Well lets put it another way, Im lookin for a cost effective upgrade to my GS2. I'm not a heavy users. I dont need to spend more than £20 a month on a contract really.

So I need an upgrade that doesnt cost me the world.

I've also only had one softphone that being the GS2, so Im very used to Samsung. Will the Nexus devices be that much of a departure? (UI, navigation, icons etc...)

I had a S2, everything work the same, it just looks much better being stock android, and is a hell of a lot faster as it doesn't have all the extra Samsung junk. Things like the camera interface are a bit behind but everything else is much better.

Also the Nexus 5 will be relatively cheap Sim free from Google, so you can just get a much cheaper sim only contract and save more money in the long run.

I sold my GS2 and bought an n4 when the price of the n4 dropped.

Much as I loved the GS2, everything on the n4 is on a different level. Samsung products are great but are not the most intuitive. The pure android experience is much easier to use.

"and is a hell of a lot faster...."

Actually that might be an understatement because the Nexus 5 appears to have Cat4 LTE certification making it wicked fast. Can you just imagine 150-mbps download speeds?

I'm all for better speeds but why on earth would I need that sort of download speed on a phone!?
Even now with my speed capped at something daft like 3mbps because T Mobile are donkeys there's nothing I can't do on my phone that I'd want to.

same here.. :o the only time I feel the need for faster connection is when browsing google maps to find something but even then its more than OK.. and the other times I'm at home/work where I have access to WiFi
