*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

thanks stoosh just ordered that case.

the orange beast should be here wed! im quite excited! hahaha i really hope i dont have the screen issues many seem to be getting.
are there any tests/tips for checking out the screen or is it just by eye?

I started thinking, I would go 16Gb, then I thought what the hell for £40 more I'll go 32Gb. Now I'm back to thinking I'll go 16Gb. I don’t take many pictures and I don’t use my current phone (GS2) for games or have loads of apps etc...

16Gb should be fine for my uses? How much free space is on the 16Gb?

Ordered my 32Gb red like 1am monday morning and mine is coming tuesday.

Just restrict who can buy the phone on Ebay, take a picture before you send it and make sure you use a trackable service to send it. (So I only allow UK mainland and for phones I require at least a rating of 5 - so OK< rules out those new buyers, but people with a rating of 5 have usually "done all this before").
Simple precautions you should be taking anyway when it comes to large value items.
Recently sold my HTC One X on EBay for £160 - all went smoothly, as have all but 2 of my Ebay transactions (Currently have a 410 rating) and on both of those occasions I won the appeal process as I'd taken the correct precautions as a seller.

I had all those restrictions in place before that happened. It's not foolproof.

Too many morons on eBay now.

Even had the old it arrived damaged, etc, once too, even though I use bubble wrap and padded envelopes.

It's became a hassle and expensive to use for expensive devices

I've been using it for years with no problems before, I know how it works and that you always use recorded and insured delivery.

People are trying their luck all the time now. Gumtree is better

Hopefully I may get it today then as I ordered mine on Saturday at about 7pm it's saying it's been put into a secure container last night on the parcel force website so with a bit of luck it may be here today!

Another joining the bright red/orange owners club! Hahaha

So glad I went for the 32. I pinned a selection of my music from Goolge Play and promptly ran out if space.

I hate this pricing by capacity model. 40 quid for a few pounds worth of flash storage, its ridiculous. But you can see why manufacturers do it, its almost pure profit.

If you plan on using Google Music then get the 32gb, my cache alone was taking up 8gb the other day.

Just checked the delivery it's out on the van in my area for delivery today! = happy excited me.

Any tips/tricks regarding checking the screen regarding this yellow colourisation?
Do they all come with this yellow tint now or?
Can you send it back for this problem or is it pointless as they are all coming with the yellow screens now?

Best way to check it is just to use it, if you notice it then it's an issue if not then why go looking for it.

Can anyone recommend a car holder, preferably to fit a vent? Also what wireless chargers are to be considered and avoided?

Thanks

And games, HD ones are 1-2GB a piece, I currently have my phone sat at 20GB with most of my music on Spotify, it gets to 32GB depends on how many movies/tv/anime I have on it. But it is great to have all that extra space.

Personally I would just buy a £1.99 cable and a 64gb USB stick and save a fiver and have a lot more storage space or buy the little sd card reader and a sd card.

But the internal is a neeter way.

and my phone has arrived!!

u lot weren't lying when u said its bright!!
i really like it though havent had anytime with it but i like the colour its more of a electro funk orange than red.

Its a good option but I tend to mostly use storage for video and it would be weird watching a video with a cable dangling on the train haha.

Grats on getting flame orange Nexus 5 :p

No worries Dude. The orange beast is rev11 and as far as I'm aware only rev12 models onwards are effected by the yellow screen. It would be so obvious if you had a yellow screen because it would just hit you as you loaded up the Google home page.

You should download an app to test for dead pixels though..dead pixel test is good.

Yep it's too damn bright...you need shades just to use it lol

Congratulations on your new purchase by the way...

Anyone actually noticed difference in battery usage from high brightness/auto and low brightness for the screen? Been trying super low brightness for the last week or so. Seems like the same on time to battery %. :(

Where do these people keep coming from? That number is just the month of manufacture, not a revision number!

Excuse me? And you're the smartphone police? Did I mention anything about revision number?!! I merely stated the yellow screen problem is evident on certain models which are rev12 onwards.
