*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

So is the battery universally pants on this, or have I got a dud? Off charge at 7am, 2 hours of music. Occasional use a couple of times during the day, 2 hours music and browsing on the way home and it's at 11% already. Same story yesterday.

Its barely any better than my old phone which was coming to the end of the life of its second battery.
 
Might be joining in on the Nexus 5 party, RED of course. Had my Note 3 stolen from me today which sucks, loved my Nexus 4 so the 5 is on the cards I reckon.
 
Picked up the Nexus 5, anyone else notice the notification light is at the bottom but in half the photos you see its at the top behind the speaker??
or is mine broken?

Doesn't sound right mine comes off charge at 7am and doesn't get down to 11% by 7pm even after 6 to 7 hours of streaming music from Google music and general use

Has the same problem with mine, music was killing it, switched to the Art compiler and it's made a huge difference.
 
can anyone help me with this... as described earlier the power button on my nexus 5 is broken. i need to return it for exchange/warranty

but how on earth can i wipe my data from it first when its stuck in a switched off state ? last thing i need is for someone to access all my data or for me to need to change the password for every account that ive ever used through its browser and saved passwords for

Yeah the cable wouldn't be too good for that have u seen the tiny little SD card reader that u can buy for £7.50 it plugs into the charge socket same size as a SD card practically and you slot the SD card into it its in the nexus accessories page tempted to get one as its a very compact way of adding storage.

You should download an app to test for dead pixels though..dead pixel test is good.

Thanks will download dead pixel in a minute,I'm happy to say that it looks like my phone is okay the whites look white no wonky buttons so very happy about that had the 403 error on play store for awhile but managed to get that sorted by logging in and out of my account a few times,sadly my housemate who got the phone the same time as me cannot get rid of the 403 error any tips? He loves the phone but is pretty annoyed he can't download anything as u would be.

Cheers glad I finally took the leap loving the new phone,then screen size is great just getting used to the size prefer the lighter weight and thinness over my iPhone.

That's just the white speaker grille on the white N5, the red N5 has a red one and the black a black one.
 
Ah but black sides? Nice. On the review that's under the heading "notification led" so why is the cut out on the official flip case there and not where the led is?

Yep the white one just has a white back with black sides and a white speaker, whereas the red has a red back, sides and speaker.
