I think I'm going to try find insurance for phone as the screen covers that some suggest ie leather ones are butt ugly and nexus 5 shouldn't be packed into a ugly case!

On insurance front what's best insurance for nexus 5?
A lot of insurers Don't cover accidental drops( a LOT don't..). Or water damage.

Suggestions?
Thanks

Insureandgo were good when my lad smashed his s3 we paid a one of £67 for total cover inc accident and loss.

Which was?

Fall asleep on the train! :D

Total screen time today when I set off to come home was 18 mins as I didn't use it at all on the way in this morning.

Unfortunately it seems the only way to ensure good battery life is to not use the phone :(.

Any similar phone will get similar-ish battery life. I'm not sure what you expect!

Get a charging pack, problem solved. If you're on the train a lot, perhaps consider a Galaxy Note 3 instead.

Sadly, battery technology hasn't advanced much so it's quite limited.

I know, I just think its a shame things have got this way. I would quite happily have a thicker heavier phone if it improved the battery, but that's not the way things are going.

I should only be commuting on the train for a couple more months, and then who knows.

After yesterday's experiment with WiFi on, I got to 4.5hrs (69%) of screen time with the phone having been on for over 7hrs and still had 57% of battery left.

I'll do the same for you today, I've got WiFi turned off now, still all my usual push notifications/apps running as yesterday, and I'll report back what my situation is after 4hrs. :)

I wish I had your battery times. I don't have a data plan, so always have data off and wi-fi on and I only get around 4 hours or so of screen on time.

I've had this phone since launch and absolutely love it though and can live with the compromises they made in battery/camera for a cheaper price. Thing is blazing fast and never lags. I do hope they fix the camera hiss though as I can live with it, but it is kind of annoying to have.

Don't you have a charger at work? That would allow you to have a full charge for your home journey.

It should last your commute - how long is it?

You should be able to have enough time for several hours of gaming/movies on the way to work

Maybe I'm lucky - but I the battery is exactly what I'd expect from a phone of its class. I guess I don't really pay games, but download emails, read news articles, a bit of browsing and social media. However it does get a good use every day.

My HTC Sensation lasted a day easy, and my Motorola Milestone would go a couple on a charge no sweat.

I had a Sensation, the battery life wasn't great. The Nexus 5 should be doing better (as evidenced by the majority of people's battery life stats). Using it in an area with poor signal, or repeatedly moving through poor signal areas like you might potentially be on a train, could explain it...

I'm similar in that regard - What kind of battery life do you get?
