*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I picked one up this morning, good old black colour!

Seems to be fully up to date and the newest batch, 401k.

Feels lovely... I like the texture on the back! Screen is wonderful too. Still to have a proper play, uptime is only on 16 minutes :)

Picked up a black one this morning.

Batch 311k, with 4.4 installed, and 4.4.2 immediately available to download.

Great spot! I was all stoked on the 32Gb version, not that I need the space, but it will hold it's resale value better.

However the 16Gb version at £240 is £100 price difference. That changes things considerably.

I’m just concerned buying from the CPW, not to by old stock? You know the ones with Audio etc issues....

Also warranty. With CPW or with Google direct?

There's always OTG support if that's a concern.

I just picked up my black one. I had a look at the white and I wasn't sure if would discolour over time, although I must say the two tone looked fantastic

My contract is up 7th March and I'm eyeing this up. Worth going for it or waiting?

I'd be seriously tempted to buy the the Nexus 5 Simfree from CPW now while they are on offer, at £240 it is unbeatable value TBH. And sell the phone you would get when you renew or go on a better value rolling contract.

Outstanding value yes. I’m just concerned regarding hardware revisions and receiving old stock.

I was up for an upgrade in Dec with Three. They offered me NOTHING! I called them up and said to me the best thing they could do was give me one free month on the SIM 600 plan = £9.90!!

I guess you never know about old stock, but I got a 401k version... Jan 2014 and on 4.4.2 out of the box :)

You will pay at least double for an S5. Sure it will be great but when you can get a n5 for £240 and a s5 for what £550.... Hmm tough one.

By that logic everyone should buy a Nexus and that should be that, but I use my phone a lot so if the extra price gets a higher spec phone with no real flaws, I don't mind. Whether that will be the case or not, we'll see on Monday night.

No getting away from the Nexus being better value though.
