Or try recording a vid in a completely silent room and the hissing is pretty loud like you're in a wind tunnel.
just making the point ALL nexus5's have this issue
I hope that I'm wrong, but personally i reckon that the hiss on videos is a hardware fault and not a software issue. This has been a very well known issue to Google since early November and we are now entering March later this week and not a single thing has happened in regards to fixing it.
Would it really take a company like Google 4-5 months to fix a sound related software issue? You only have to look at how quickly they fixed the camera issues with a swift update.
I've had my nexus 5 since December and have pretty much given up recording videos and my hopes of a software fix are almost non-existent*.
*Cue Google issueing a patch later

Well on the weekend I was on target for over 30hrs of battery life. 60% left with 14hrs and 30mins usage.

i am subscribed to the google msg board thread on it. they have been requesting bug reports and all indications lead towards a software issue.
I suspect we will get a OTA in Q1.

Picked up one from CPW this morning and cancelled my original order. £60 saved!

.I've seen two of these. The hissing and the focus when video recording. My nexus seem's quite happy to sit recording a blurred video.
Yeah it's odd. If I switch mode and then back again it focuses fine.
That is what I do too. Go back in to camera mode, wait for it to focus then switch to video mode and it will actually focus on what I'm recording.

Just turned my N5 on and it's lovely. Got to applaud Google for their Google Account recovery too, within 5 minutes I've got all my apps, contacts etc and it's like I never changed OS.
