*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I have to agree with jimlad. The sort of people that care about viewing angles on a phone are usually the same sort of people that don't receive phone calls to said phone because they have no friends:p

It's not as bad as those who care about build quality and then put their phone in a big bulky case :p

My point is. Why do people care about viewing angles on a phone? A TV screen in a lounge is a bit different.

Exactly, utterly pointless as far as I am concerned. Seeing as there is also no practical mainstream use for being able to view a rotated screen at a 10 degree angle, it's obvious that it's not high on the manufacturers list of usp either.

I hope that you have better luck that I have had from the Carphone Warehouse when I had to return my N5. When my situation is resolved I would not want to use them again as a retailer, their support has been abysmal.

I decided to go through Google and LG direct in the end. They are sending a padded envelope to me in the post to send the phone back for repairs.

The real bummer is that I will have lost the majority of my photos from a recent rip to Australia :(

Deal with the fact that they have skimped on the screen with this phone.

If you don't care...that's a different matter.

lol@ no friends...surely you can do better. What are you...5? :D

Honestly the problem is that no phone is perfect right now. I want an iphone quality Nexus device but it simply doesn't exist. I would be willing to pay a premium for it too!

I'm in the same about, I would drop £500 on a Nexus device with bigger battery, actual speakers, better camera I don't actual think anyone has the ideal camera, closes thing right now is the L830, I would want something like the Z2 sensor but at 8MP and OIS.

I think Google cheaps out on the devices so they can get an easy way out, why complain if your phone is £350 vs the iPhone thats £550.

No need to bring Samsung into this...I'm comparing apples to apples.

The HTC One screen and the OPPO 5 are at the top of the LCD scale. The N5 is nearer the middle.

What phone do you have ?

As I stated its the whole package I am interested. HTC software in my view is crud. If the Google play edition cokes to the UK then I would take a look again.

S3 LTE, though tried most current poines through family and friends and purchases.

Yes I understand it's the whole package that matters...that's why we all choose differing phones.

Just pointing out...for me atleast that the screen is a weakness of this phone.

You still got that old thing?

I prefer my nexus screen compared to my old S3 LTE, the colours were just a saturated mess.

And this is just a contrast/black mess :p

whole package remember...:o

Mine has the official 3000mAh battery, 128GB SD card and custom ROM.

Aswell as LTE, 2GB RAM, grreat SQ and HD OLED. I'd rather have mine than N5. And I bought the first batch of N5 when released, was gobsmacked by the contrast shift.

My S3 is Still fast and capable until something properly better comes along that isn't huge.

I can honestly say hand on heart the lack of blacks on the N5 have never bothered me nor have a ever thought about the lack of whilst using it.

Having a phone where the battery easily last a day has been a massive plus for me and being able to have something light on the screen without the battery taking a hammering :D
