*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Really? Where did I mention Samsung displays? Let me help you out, nowhere. You clearly have an agenda, thank you for clarifying that for us. The only other phone I've actually mentioned is an iPhone 5s...

So you make a post after the previous 3-4 posts are referencing the samsung phone displays and on top of that make an indirect comparison to displays with a boost in contract (which what do you know was being discussed re Samsung). Okay probably just a coincidence then.

You jumped to your own conclusion, and were wrong with your assumptions. Most likely because all you are considering is Samsung, why would that be?

The ongoing discussion was to do with Samsung displays and your first post in the midst of that somehow indirectly referenced what Jimlad was talking about.

Like I said, must just be a coincidence eh? Lol.

I'll take more accurate colours over a slight boost in contrast at this price point. It would be nice to have my cake and eat it, but you have to be realistic.

If you read my post, you will see that I am addressing the only weakness that the Nexus 5 screen has for me (viewing angles are a non event for me), which is a slight lack of contrast. I'm not comparing it to other phones at all. Unlike others I am keeping on topic for the thread.

Zzzzzz.

The phone is £150-£200 cheaper than the other flagships. Amazingly, it has some drawbacks compared to these more expensive phones (bombshell). For what you get for your money though, it's an amazing phone. So just get what's best for you and enjoy it.

Edit: For potential buyers, I'm perfectly happy with the screen having used HTC and Samsung phones.

Had it for almost a day now. Very fast and screen is great too. :p

Had to install power toggles though and I don't like the fact that you can't rearrange the app menu.

Going to wait for a day or two so can accurately gauge the battery but looking better then my old xperia z already.

after a brief stint with the galaxy S2 i was put off with android and have been an avid iphone user. i decided to make the switch to the nexus 5 and am very impressed.

ive come from an iphone 5 and the screen seems very good in comparison.

ive rooted and changed the LCD resolution (or whatever its called) to 380 and it looks even better now.

My mate with a s4 looked at the screen today and said it looks better then his gs4. I don't agree but there's not a great deal between them as some people like to make out.

Awaits konas onslaught... :p

I'd agree with your friend. I moved from an S4 to the N5 and the screen was one of the deciding factors for me, it was just a lot nicer to use. Web browsing on the N5 was so much nicer than on the S4.

it's the whole package, not just the screen but the response from the touch on the screen that makes it smooth,

I was just meaning actually looking at the screen, pages and text look so much nicer.

But yes, I agree with what you're saying as well, the smoothness is fantastic!
