How exactly would you measure that? Surely that's just nitpicking that maybe the M8 opens apps a fraction faster. I had the M8 prior to the S5 and honestly there is no real world difference in the overall usage of the phone, whether it be opening apps or the time taken to get from one page to another. Touchwiz is a heavy skin but on the plus side these new processors can handle it with ease tbh. At the same time you get an array of more features with Touchwiz than you do with stock android, something your average joe bloggs would probably favour.
It seems like Samsung have become the new apple and everything they release gets bashed upon lol, forget the fact they are one of the few manufacturers who tick a lot of boxes in what accessibility and customization you're offered.
If users are after the best of both worlds iOS is probably the best optimized OS you can get.
I bash whats not great, if you watch the video some apps have clear lag, and every time the multi tasking button is pressed it pauses, I personally thought this was something to do with S voice but its not. Over time these little things add app.
I don't really care who makes the device if something is not right ill point it out, the S5 has a pretty meh build, they didn't try and they clearly have the talent when you look at their TVs and laptop such as a the series 9. Touchwiz is getting better, I actual like the design of some of the apps but it is just too heavy at default, too much crap enabled, when your settings page has over 100 icons somethings gone wrong. Even small things like swipe right to the 'My magazine' is pretty laggy, I'm not sure if it was the animation just being done badly but it wasn't very fluid.
The S5 has a the best screen bar none, I love it, Displaymate rated it as the best display, Anandtech who hated AMOLED panels for a long time rated it highly and said it will be better then LCD next year. Colours are pretty on point, whites are better then most, viewing angles like always are prefect and a IPS or not LCD just doesn't measure up. And in sunlight it pretty epic how clear the screen is.
Battery life is awesome, Samsung has dropped the amount the screen uses by a lot, S801 is great on battery. Camera in daylight is solid, the M8 is faster to capture but the difference is tiny, and it capture much better images. Due to the tiny pixel is meh to useless in the dark, hopefully they balance pixel size and megapixels in the future. It also lacks OIS, but the M8 dropped that too.
Overall S5 is a solid device, its not the device for me but I would easily recommend it too anyone.
iOS is nice but I hate a lot of gripes with the OS still, simple things like proper background tasks are still in shambles and is something that once you get used too is hard to go backwards. Its a solid OS, but today Android is just as good if not better. Even WP8.1 is serious contender.
Awful. I hope it's fake. But yes 4.3 dialer sucks exdialler is far better.
Some parts of the dialer in 4.4 are amazing, I love how it picks up numbers from Gmaps, the amount of recruitment agencies I can just avoid these days is amazing. Some parts are a bit confusing and need a lot of fixing.
