*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Cool. Not gonna rush on this as need Barclays apps for work and home use.

But will try at some point.

I'd stick with released stock KK for now.... I put L on mine late on Friday and used it until last night.

Had an odd unlock issue where I'd unlock it and it would repeatedly lock again immediately.

Other issue was around Maps. Used it as satnav for a 1h20m journey and it completely destroyed the battery, even though it was on a fast charger that usually doesn't bat an eyelid.

Hadn't done anything daft with it or committed to things like authenticator, so was no great shakes going back to KK.

Overall though, I'm fairly impressed with how it will end up when released.... was very nice indeed. My two year experiement with fruit-themed fondlekit seems but a bad memory after 4 months with the N5 and 2 days with Android L!

downloaded and installed paranoid android, didnt really like it cant see much gain over gravitybox infact its a step backwards in some cases such as the quick settings. so i just restored my stock nandroid. happy now.

It's really not that different, just a new way to open the settings draw, and lock screen, most of it is the same, just newer looking.

The main big change for me which I can't decide I'll like until I get a chance to play with it, is where the quick settings are now located. Seems a bit more long winded to me, I have got used to the left side pull down for notifications & right side pull down for quick toggles in custom ROMS.

Apart from that really nothing looks different apart from the colour scheme which again I'm not totally sold on.

A few of the stuff being added I have had in custom roms for a while now.

Android L battery life for me has been pretty awesome, and Ars just did a simple web browser test with 4.4.4 and L and got 36% more battery, things are looking good for a preview, and hopefully it pushes forward.

Let's hope these improvements make it into the smartwatches too. Come on 360 already, I've already hinted to the wife and its my birthday in 5 days :p

Can't get 2 days from my stock N5. I'm hoping a smartwatch and ART will fix that as most the time it's to check the notification that came though.

Sure but then it will be Bluetooth LE. Which was supported in 4.3 onwards. Which devices does Android Ware support again? Oh 4.3 onwards :)

This is only based on using my Nexus with my pebble. I'm not sure, but I think it supports BLE.

It wasn't a huge drain, but it was definitely noticeable by the end of the day.
