*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Noob question but do I need a separate NFC tag to use the function on my N5? If it's built in, whereabouts on the phone is it? Can't connect to a portable speaker with nfc and it is enabled on my phone. I know the speaker isn't at fault as it works with my brother's Lumia.

Just an update (mostly for my sponsor, stoosh :p): the Nexus 5 is being returned to Amazon tomorrow, leaving just the HTC One M8.

Whoa Mate!! What on earth happened,? Maybe being your sponsor is doing the trick :p

Is the M8 really that good?

It's around the middle of the phone, make sure NFC is enabled on the settings first, never had any issues using it on my phone.

So, having read this entire thread once more, all 245 pages - ok, skim reading much of it, but you get the idea, back to the question of cases.
I had the official bump case for this phone. Fits perfectly, offers protection but also adds a fair amount of unwanted bulk.
Is there such a thing as a case, bump case, surround, etc, that offers some protection to corners, the back etc that adds as little bulk as possible?

It's a lovely phone, so well designed and thin. If I cannot find that case I'll just use it naked. I'm careful, but "some" protection just makes me that little bit happier.

anyone ever tried using the nexus 5 with the internal aerial cable (black) unplugged ? weird question but it will make sense in a minute
my repair fiasco is nearly over

they eventually sent me 'evidence' that the phone had been opened , this was a mark to the inner casing and a snapped aerial cable.... LOL

i had never opened the phone and certainly never broken the insides. i never had any signal problems before i sent my phone off either

looks like this was damaged by the repair company who then turned it on me and left me without a phone for 2 months. i also had to make many 10p per minute calls and pay £14.50 for this 'repair' company to send my phone back to me !

LG have finally said they will now repair the phone atleast. although i still wont believe it till it happens

on another note ive been using a galaxy s4 for these few months. getting the nexus back in the post earlier this week made me laugh at how flimsy the samsung feels. but then i guess the samsung never broke ! (except glass... 2 times)

I tried Spigen bumper case which is claimed to be slim but it was too bulky for me. It cost £16 or something. I then realised that the cheap case (S-line) I've had on my previous S2 for 3 years came in Nexus 5 format, so got that instead. Under £5, very snug and slim, yet has saved my s2 from several drops over the years. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Curve...undefined&sr=8-3&keywords=nexus+5+s+line+case

Just picked up a White 32gb to have a play with.

Forgot how nice the N5's are, so so quick (But you all knew that anyway!)

Great move!!

There's nothing like the experience of Nexus devices. I love how fast and fluid stock android is.

No more Samsung, HTC, Sony devices for me, strictly Nexus or Moto phones for me from now on

Yup!

Just using my consumer rights mate ;)

Dude what can I say? As your sponsor I have disagree to such behaviour but in this case I'll make an exception. You're a ledge Mate! haha ;)

p.s. Sold my N5 on the bay while prices were still quite good. Using a Moto G for the time being :D

Not a bad idea, I have a Nexus 4 still.
