*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

And so my Android adventure is at an end.

Sold my Nexus 5 on Saturday which was the last of my Android tech.

Enjoyed my time using the various phones (S3, N4 & N5) and a 2012 N7 tablet over the past 2 and a half years. I'd even say that I managed to convince my mates/family that Android is a much more polished OS nowadays to the point that some of them have Android products now.

Me personally? I'm back on an iPhone 5S (my circumstances mean the 6 is a no-go for me at the moment) alongside a Macbook Pro and an iPad Air and very much looking forward to what iOS 8 brings.

No doubt Apple make great hardware. I think like you said though, in terms of the phone/tablet OS, Android is looking a lot better these days. With that in mind and the Nexus range being almost half the price of the iPhone's I can't see me going back to the iPhone any time soon. Never say never though!

Lost my Nexus 5 in an unlicensed cab on sunday morning :(

So upset and so angry at the stupid pos cab driver who didn't even know his way around london. and of course at my self for being too drunk to realise I'd left it in his car. No way of tracking him nor the phone down.

I've told android device manager to wipe it if possible and called Three to have them lock the sim.
The battery was already dead and I didn't have any of those 'track your phone' sort of apps either.

Thankfully nothing has been lost permanently apart from the physical device itself.
Uninsured though, so 320quid down the drain.

Guess I'm stuck with this old little HTC One V crap thing until the Nexus 6 comes out.

I'm pretty interested in iOS8, for my personally iOS has also been a fight to get it working for me as compared to Android where things just worked. iOS8 seems to be fixing some of that now and looks very interesting.

Personally thinking to keep my current setup of Android phone + iPad so I can play with both OS.

Yep...they still have them in stock as mine was delivered today. I couldn't resist getting another one at that price. I actually missed not having my N5 around and had to buy a replacement.

Yeah I just got a black one. As bored of white and Mrs needs an upgrade

Good move Mate! The N5 is easily the best device out there for the price and I've tried literally every flagship out there and they don't compare to the N5.

Battery life is the only thing that lets it down.

Battery life is the only thing that lets it down.

Idle battery is obviously brilliant (Kitkat optimisations with no fluff on top) and screen-on life is fine but the relatively small battery is eaten away easily when you start gaming.

Though obviously I hope the Nexus 5 2014 has a bigger battery, and L is meant to improve on efficiency further, but it'll have to be absolute stunner with front-facing (or certainly better-placed) speakers to make me upgrade. Though come November the itch may have increased!

Battery life for me on L has seen a decent bump. Speaker wise I noticed something yesterday, my GFs phone is 4-5x louder then mine, we was using it as a satnav and when she shows me her it was crazy loud, and mine could be hardly heard at all. Her speakers where very loud and clear.

Idle battery is great but I don't really game that often and it's just using Whatsapp and using data the whole day that kills the battery for me. L is supposed to make the battery better and ask long as the new Nexus has a better battery I'm all for getting it. I really don't care for an upgraded screen, as long as it has 5.2"-5.3" screen I'll be buying it for sure. Bet that itch will increase big time come November!

Yeah looking fwd to getting it even though I have one lol. I am off to Holland till the weekend so hoping it turns up before 12:00

I was getting bored of the white variant too however I bought it again because I'll just put a skin on it and it'll look great.

Did the phone turn up by 1200?

It did. I am on Holland now but left it at home. Need to RMA it. Has a massive yellow tint compared to my white version.

Dammit that sucks Mate. Will you have to RMA it via Clove? Apparently Clove's devices come straight from LG distribution.

My device has a slight dent on the back of the battery cover on the edge but I can live with that and if my OCD gets too much I'll just get a replacement back.

I guess I should be able to return under distance goods act

Ah yes..The Distance Selling Act...great law to fall back on :D

I'm still waiting for my RMA from Google, my status went to blank. Also really hope there is 5"-5.2" Nexus, or Moto X.

You should be alright, Google have got much better in regards to RMA's

I want the same, anything bigger and I can't hack it. The OPO was too massive and got on my nerves very quickly.
