*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

anyone find the signal isnt the greatest on this phone? since ive switched i only get 1 bar at my place of work when my previous phone i often had full.

I'm gonna bet that's a Moto XL and not a Nexus 6. Hopefully the next Nexus will be 5.2" maximum.

Unless the overall footprint is in line with the Note 3 that looks way too big and doesnt make a lot of sense imo since its only a few inches smaller than the Nexus 9... surely google would want to have a clear distinction between phone and tablet if they are releasing new versions at the same time?

I'm not adverse to a large phone, but if the leaks are a fair representation of any Nexus 6, what's putting me off is the look - like the Moto X 2014, it's just a phone - it's a step back 5+ years. I'm generally not one to buy devices based on looks, but I'd like something where some thought has gone into the aesthetics of a £300+ device.

The Nexus 5 looks fairly plain, but in an understated, sleek way. This isn't even trying - it's just there. Hopefully the shell is just a placeholder.

i hope for two options.

the iphone model seems to have worked well...

why do android companies release low spec 'mini' versions.

why not two identical speced phones just different sizes?????

6 inches is just retarded and I'll be ditching the Nexus line if that's the case. Might as well carry a frickin Nexus7 in my pocket......wtf Google.
This is Europe not Asia. Are they just focusing on massive screens that asia loves so much?

^ I think so. After owning nearly every Nexus phone I think I would give the 6 a miss purely on size.

Am inclined to agree as well. Even using the Z3c the Nexus 5 seems big so heaven knows how the Nexus 6 would compare.

I'm still holding out on Google pulling an 'Apple' move and releasing two versions of the Nexus 6. A 5.2" version though would be my absolute limit.

It's too soon for a 5" Snapdragon 805/QHD Nexus device. I can't see Google going there, given we aren't likely to see such devices from Samsung, HTC et all until Q2 at the earliest. It would be a tad unfair to usurp the market like that, given the Nexus range's traditionally low pricing.

Maybe we'll see a Nexus 5 refresh? A bigger battery, better camera, more RAM? That would do the trick.
