*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

There are some Nexus 5 around for about £300 though, as you can see earlier in the thread, some of these are from the wrong country. I would be quite happy to spend the £300 or so but I don't know if I want to go to the price the Nexus 6 will be - or have to carry it in a trailer towed by my wheelchair just for a phone! (well, it is quite big!)

This is the longest I've ever had a single phone and been happy with it, and I can't believe they're stopping production. I'm like a child in a sweetshop when it comes to new phones and even I'm sceptical about the 6 as it is ENORMOUS

That's more than a little annoying.

My N4 is on it's last legs and keeps randomly killing itself overnight. Being stock android, it is still beautifully smooth in use, but the battery life is shocking (it barely gets me through a day with 2hrs screen on time) and the camera is distinctly average.

Looking for a replacement isn't as easy as it would have been a year ago.......

- The N6 is just too big. I want a phone I can fit in my pocket;
- The Z3C appeals. I like the form factor but I've also grown to appreciate the importance of stock android and fast updates direct from Google;
- The Moto X 2014 is a possible for near enough stock android, although battery life is questionable;
- The Moto Maxx, if it makes it to these shores, could be worth a look although could be pricey compared to the N5 and I don't like the capacitative buttons that it looks likely to have.

I'm not into rooting and roms anymore. Got bored of that with my old HTC Sensation and there was always something that didn't quite work so whichever phone I end up with will remain stock.

Maybe I just pick up one of the last remaining N5's before they're all gone.

Lets be honest, Its basically the Nexus 5 2014 edition.

Agreed, the software is basically stock Android, even has the same launcher with just a few nice Moto tweaks. The design/build is nicer, the metal is really nice and the curve design is lovely, its super thin sides and makes the whole device feel crazy thin and the curve is very natural. Actual easier to handle even thou the screen is bigger.

Oh and OLED.

All in all a nice device, hopefully google just sells a Moto X in the play store with the same colours.

Add me to the disaster list. I was putting my sim card back into the Nexus 5 when it dropped out of the sim adapter and I inserted the sim adapter into the phone. I can't get the tray open and after hours of trying I can only get it open 1/4 of the way.

I've heard stories of the sim points being damaged if I were to force the tray out. I've looked at some youtube vids which instruct you to jam a piece of plastic to force the sim points down thus releasing the sim card tray - this hasn't worked.

As I didn't buy my phone from Google I'm not covered for a replacement, so I called up LG who said that my issue isn't covered by the warrant as it's not mechanical and they told me to speak to SBE (LG out of warranty) and see what they can do.

I don't want to end up spending quite a bit to get the N5 repaired, has anyone else had a similar experience or could tell me what I should do?

URGH! :mad::mad::(

Yep take the back off. Easy to do. Don't send it away because that's all they will do then charge you loads of money plus take 14 days
