*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Thanks I want to go for the 16GB. Google play store says "Leaves warehouse by November 8" but CPW website says "pre-order" meaning they're out of stock. Will google play deliver it quicker?

The absolute fastest way is to try your local CPW and hope they will sell you one off contract. Some on here have managed to get one this way. Failing that I would say the safest order would be with Google Play, as CPW online store appears to have sold out.

I ordered mine yesterday with the same estimate and it has been shipped today.
Ah I see. Do you know when you will get yours delivered?

My girlfriend just said she needs to go to Nottingham on Monday so she could get it for me from the CPW shop. Might do that instead. Should be quicker I guess.

Try phoning local your local CPW though, as some people have managed to pick them up on the off chance when they went in.

Cheers. Tried yesterday. They didn't wanna sell it without contract. The reason is because I live in Lincoln and the shop here is quite small so they can only hold on to a few phones :(

Apparently Nottingham has 3 CPW stores so hopefully my GF can get it.

Although the available capacities are 16gb and 32gb, how much space is actually available? I sent back an LG G2 because it said 16gb, but only around 10gb was available I recall.

States on the tech spec about this...

Memory
32 GB internal storage (actual formatted capacity will be less)

Black 32GB is now 2-3 wks delivery. Nice. ;)

Ouch!

I'd love to see the sales figures over these past couple of day. I bet they have shifted a huge amount.

Try CPW if your after the 16GB. I'd expect CPW to get more stock next week.

I expect mine to be with me Monday or Tuesday. Not sure if Parcel Force have internal movement of parcels on Sundays.

I agree with the speaker issues (and no, I don't listen to music through them, why would anyone think you would?) It's the one thing at the minute making me think I might stick with my S4.

Err, Hangouts are a killer feature. Family and many friends on Android and we Hangout all the time. Great when abroad too. Up to 9 people on video call is amazing. Clearly it is not for you. Try it you might like it.

There is just 1 flaw thus far.....no quick reply SMS from lockscreen

S4 wins hands down.
Nexus is a little washed out and a little "yellow'ish". Audio is better on the S4 too.

No surprise really.

No touch to focus. What the....come on Google!!

Hands Down ?

- Colour reproduction looks better with the N5
- Low light performance looks significantly better
- Flash performance on the S4 is better, the yellowish tinge on the N5 is poor - Front facing camera seems to be much better (I don't really care about that)

Also there is touch to focus in Pictures but not during a video (which I hope google add !)

Photoshop there is no "yellowish" with the rear camera. Seems like you completely missed that he was on about the front facing camera, and honestly who cares about that?

The camera is clearly performing WAY better relatively to it's competition compared to where the Nexus 4 was.

Compare the Nexus 4 with the GS3 and the Nexus 4 performs abysmally however the Nexus 5 actually looks better then it's competition in many environments. Especially low light. Even in day light they look comparable.

For the price the Nexus 5 camera is standing up amazingly well.

There is touch to focus during pictures just not during video. You can get touch to focus by using a 3rd party camera app like LG camera etc.

Been waiting for N5 before getting a new phone .... given S3 is available for £240 now is the N5 £100 better (ok £60 for 16GB but there's no sdcard and I currently use a 32GB sdcard)
