*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I have mixed feelings about this phone. Things I like and things I don't like.

I like the value, power and features. This thing is more powerful than the S4 and HTC One. As far as android goes only the Note 3 is more powerful.

It just feels cheap to me compared to the glass design of the N4. I don't think that it is a bad move to change the design but it geeks like build quality has decreased while the price has increased.

I don't like that the speaker is white on the white model. I think that looks ugly.

But I'm being beyond picky here. I have a Note 3, 5S, Lumia 1020, Surface Pro 2 and I'm typing this on a new iPad air so I'm comparing it to all those phones and forgetting that mist people don't have as many gadgets as me.

But I'd never recommend getting this phone on a contract if the monthly payment is comparable to an iPhone simply because you would be better getting the iPhone and selling it and buying an N5 sim free. But I also haven't looked at contract prices so if this is going at the £20ish a month it's great value.

Someone is selling one on the bay and using the picture that was leaked on here :D

I've always had Nexus phones, but currently using a HTC One, just wanted to hear from anyone who has replaced a HTC One with a Nexus 5. Is it worth making the change?

In my eyes it's not worth doing unless you really really want stock Android.

I didn't replace one as mine got bricked when I was trying to get it to stock android :p. As already said if you happy with sense there is no need but if stock bang up to date Android is important then its something to think about.

What wireless charging plate are any of you using or recommend a good cheap one :)

Someone here recommended one of these. I've ordered one. There's one left in stock. It looks to be way better than the orb sized wireless chargers where you have to pretty much balance the device on it. I'll use it for my N7ii tablet and N5.

Do charging matts work when you have a case on your phone?

I would have thought so but you'll likely to experience slightly slower charge times depending on the thickness and the material used on the case.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty happy with the HTC One, but there is something pulling me towards to stock Android (again!). I'll give it a few days to see if the urge subsides :D

Loving some of the new things in KitKat like the full screen album art on the lock screen when playing music and in file explorer apps it now let's you add all your cloud storage files.

I bought an identical one off ebay and it works great with a nexus 4, 5 & 7.

CPW have physical stores too which is why I was questioning that statement.

Ah right, assumed it was an internet purchase which was a silly assumption. :(

If it was a store purchase surely 8 dead pixels warrants a straight replacement? Would be harsh if they don't.

Since we are all sharing, ordered my 32GB Black around 12:30am on the 1st and I've just had the e-mail to say it's out for delivery! :D
