*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

I bought one of the cheap ones for about £3. Works perfectly. Nice smooth spring action, clips in securely and looks identical to the £20 ones. I'd recommend one.

How long have you used it for thou? All the cheap Chinese/Taiwan stuff breaks on me within a month... I may order one and compare them side by side.

Battery still awful for me. No way can I make it a day without a charge.

Same here.

Less than 21hours since charged and 10% battery remaining. I've hardly used the phone in that time, 40mins screen time. Google Services, Google App and Android OS are the top three battery usages.

I've had it for about three month now. I bought two, one for me and one for my girlfriend. Both going strong and I use mine fairly regularly.

What you can do is, install custom recovery Teamwin or Clockwork. But you have to have root access, than make a backup of all the stuff you want.

I would recommend TWRP and ROM Manager ;)

I just got the OTA. I remembered some mentioning that it was stuck on 'Waiting to download' I just left it on that screen for 5-10 mins and it kicked in. Currently installing and hoping it sorts the issue of me losing WiFi passwords.

Download the update manually, and flash it using Nexus Root Toolkit. Make sure you tick the option to disable phone wipe before starting it though.

Not sure if it is a placebo effect or not but my phone has been off charge for over 24hrs now and still has 30% remaining. Same daily usage too.

I'm running CM11 and my battery life with normal use is... Within 8-10 hours the battery goes down by 2% so that's why my phone survived 4 days, there are some spikes as I plugged it to my PC couple of times to get some pictures from it.

Although, I'm thinking of flashing a different custom ROM as sometimes there are problems with greenify causing my phone to crash. That forces me to fully reboot the phone, as the soft boot doesn't do anything...

Has anyone used any of those ROM's?

Chroma

Euphoria

I just want a ROM with better camera, I wouldn't mind flashing a module into my current ROM as its really stable apart from the occasional crashes caused by Greenify...

You must have a duff battery, mine was taken off charge this morning at 08:00, 83.5 minutes of screen time with wi-fi and it's showing 66% now.

It's very likely caused by the wakelocks, install THIS app and see if e.g. Google Services are the cause of your battery draining. I had this issue with Google Services and Google Music Search service which constatnly woke up my phone and asked for the location which caused my phone to go out of charge in less than a day...

P.s. If you're running on Lolipop it might be worth looking into Gapps from Banks. ;)

I've received the Kenu Airframe some time ago and test it on a really bumpy road. The airframe stayed positioned exactly the way I left it and the phone sat nicely in the holder. I had a comparison to a cheap ebay holder, not mine as it was my friends. But that test is not really fair as that holder is probably nearly 1 year old now and he uses it quite a bit. I'll buy another one from ebay soon to compare new expensive holder vs budget Chinese holder. But the spring was less resistant and not sure if the phone wouldn't unclip driving on the roads at those speeds I did with the Kenu test...
