*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

My friends are always complaining about battery life, particularly on the iPhone!

Still apparently not enough to make a manufacturer come out with a truly spectacular standard sized phone.

It would be interesting if something like the new MotoX had an option for a battery 2/3 bigger how many it would sell in comparison to a smaller one. If anyone could do it in the nearish future you assume it could be Motorola, given their albeit limited customisations.

Just ordered a battery from replace bases ebay store, hope its a genuine one. Is there any way of knowing?

The misses nexus 5 just shuts down randomly and i'm hoping this cures it.

Well new battery in, the old one was LG made and new one Samsung. Hopefully it doesn't switch its self off anymore.

The battery was really stuck down, so much so that the by the time I got it out wasnt flat anymore. it looked easier in the videos.

Major issues with my N5 over the last couple of days, suddenly the battery life is about 4hrs, the sim card keeps not getting recognised, and the phone is resetting itself every couple of hours.
I also have this weird semi-transparent grey blob appearing at the bottom of my screen from time to time, which seems to have coincided with the phone app destroying my battery, despite me not making or receiving any calls.
I tried switching on and off, with no luck, and last night I did a factory reset, which made absolutely no difference.
CPW warehouse have confirmed that as it’s an LG the warranty is 24 months, so I’m off to the shop at lunchtime to get them to take it in for repair (or I suspect; replace).
Anyone else heard of this issue? I tried googling, but I could only find one reddit post about the grey blob, which a few people were getting without the rest of the problems I’m having.

Bit of a random question here, I lost my phone today, and I'm covered with NatWest silver insurance (they use carphonewarehouse) my last phone was replaced and upgraded (from n4 to n5) Do they make the n5 anymore? I really don't want to be upgraded to an n6. (N5 is the biggest I will go)

Anyone else get a 10mb Android update tonight or just me? Was already on 5.1.1 and it doesnt seem to have changed in about. I noticed there's no new update/image on Google factory image site either

Got me worried now.
Yes I got a 10.1MB OTA update around an hour ago. I'm guessing it is a small update to fix the stagefright exploit. Google are meant to be releasing monthly security updates from now on, so I'm guessing it's the first of those.

Anyone know more about the news that there may be 2 types of new Nexus 5? One by LG and one by Huwei?

Main rumoured headlines of the 2015 Nexus 5 are :-

5.2" 1080p Screen
Snapdragon 620 8-Core CPU
13 MP Camera
3180MAh battery
Wireless Charging
Fingerprint Scanner

Sounds pretty sweet actually. I'm trying to decide between an iPhone 6S or the 2015 Nexus 5 for my next phone.
