*** Nexus 5 THE Official Thread ***

Hello

i am going to ebay my N5 nxt week, i rooted the phone when i 1st got it, will restoring the phone to factory setting get rid of everything i have done?

thanks

I've just discovered my 3rd AC wall charger is playing up again, So this will be my 4th charger in 20 months.

They all work for a while then they show as charging via AC but actually supply nothing.
I've tested with different cables but no difference. I've usually managed to get them going for a while again by putting the USB in and out a few times to both the phone and the charger.

Looks like corrosion to the USB terminals could be the culprit. So far I've gone through the standard charger, A nexus charger they briefly sold on Google play and a Tecknet charger from Amazon.

Maybe a hard wired one instead of the individual AC adapter with USB cable would be better?

The latest 6.0 Marshmallow build for N5 seems to be pretty stable and I think battery life is also up. Going into London on the train today which usually means my phone dead by mid afternoon, so will be a good test.

Not sure why they have jumped up to 6.0 for what looks and feels more like a tweaking of Lollipop rather than any sort ofahor step.

Spoke too soon. Marshmallow appears to be losing all my SMSs. They appear in the notification area, and I can read them, but then when I navigate away and then back to my SMS app the messages are gone.

Does it on Hangouts and Messenger.

Edit: Looks like it might be a Marshmallow/Pushbullet issue.

I thought I had a bad battery in my misses phone, I've swapped it with a new one genuine but the phone still powers it self off at random intervals. Any ideas how to track the problem down?

Anyone got any ideas on the issue i've been seeing the past while with regards to it only partially charging?
Some days it charges as normal, Others it will just sit charging doing nothing. Leave it over night and it will only charge to 40%.

So far I've replaced the battery and the internal USB socket, Tried different cables, Different chargers etc. Away to try a restore now.

I wish this new phone would make an appearance soon!!

I'm trying yet another battery. My original will charge but very very slowly. Putting in the new one I received, I can see it states it is -30 deg C and just shows as COLD in the ampere app. The original gives a temperature and states Good.

I rooted the misses phone and installed franco kernal to see if she could get a day out of the phone without recharge but it hasnt helped much it still needs charging.

The phone says an android update is ready can I not install this now? the phone reboots to recovery if selecting ok.

You need to unroot and return to stock to be able to install ota updates i believe

So the new battery didnt help. So far I have:

- Factory restored.
- Replaced charging dock PCB
- Tried 3 batteries.
- Tried 3 AC units
- tried a handful of USB cables.

Ive yet to try a QI charger.
Anyone got a smashed Nexus 5 they are willing to sell for parts? Im thinking maybe the motherboard is at fault now.
