*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

How long does it take to fully charge via wireless? I found USB charging from PC to be next to useless so always used mains, I'd consider wireless if it's better than USB.

not sure yet as I have charged it from flat
but the units output is 5v 1A and the mains charger you get with the nexus 7 is 5.2v 1.35A so it should be better than USB

Wireless better than USB??? Lmao

It's well known that wireless charging is not as efficient or as fast, plus it's expensive to buy in the first place.

I don't see myself ever using one unless it's free

he was on about USB from a PC not the mini USB power plug
USB power output from a pc is about 500mA which is why he said it was slow charging

With these wireless chargers, will they work through a normal case? Quite tempting to get one, but as I've got the case on the tablet 24/7 I don't really fancy having to take it off all the time, kind of defeats the purpose!

It's a (fake) leather flip case. Not particularly thick; what sort of thickness can the QI chargers handle?

I couldn't tell you.

So I've tried the screen fix that I mention and it does seem to have made an improvement. It's not perfect, but it's a damn sight better.

cases make them even more inefficient.

they will usually still work though.

as with anything the more stuff you put in between them the less they work, like a wireless network with lots of thick brick walls in the way.

your really better off just using a lead, it takes two seconds and is quicker, cheaper and better for the environment, etc.

insane tbh

i don't understand how they make a profit on that.

i got mine from canada whilst on holiday and it cost like £160-170.

once you add in the cost to import from USA to UK then the cost of shipping to a uk address from their warehouse, etc.

surely they are breaking even?

even if i had brought back say 10 of them from canada, realistically depending on how much of a percentage play take for you selling on their site, etc i would need to sell for at least £200 to make just couple of quid on them.

brilliant deal though for anyone who wants one.
