*** Nexus 7 2nd Gen thread ***

You download the update zip file to your PC, boot the phone into recovery mode and install it.

It's basically what an OTA update does, only you're manually applying it.

Now I've owned the 7 a few days I thought I'd comment on the missed keypresses. I hadn't noticed it before but since adding a screen protector (the official Asus one) I've noticed a lot more misses. I'm convinced it's worse with it on as I hardly noticed it before. It's not bad enough to return it but certainly not as smooth as I'd like.

I've also decided to return the case I bought for it (official Asus case - unused) and have ordered the Poetic instead as it gets better reviews and has the auto-wake/sleep.

QUESTION: How smooth is the slimport HDMI output to a TV? Is it good enough to use as a genuine media player replacement?

If KitKat doesn't fix the touch-screen missed presses and sticking, then I'm done with the Nexus7.

Unsure what I'd move onto though... perhaps that new Nvidia Tegra 4 7" thingumabob !!

I've installed a custom patch which helps. I linked it a few pages back. Please post in here if it improves because if it does I will remove the custom patch and go back to standard.

If 4.4 doesn't fix my touch screen issues I'll be getting shot of it too.
