NFL 2016 Season

Not been as active this year with the NFL. Silly life... and American Football getting in the way!

I feel a bit indifferent about the Pats season so far, obviously 12-2 is nothing to grumble about, just feel the two games we lost we really didn't seem to turn up.

Raiders & Jags I feel are having a great season though, lots of improvements made! Big fan of Gus Bradley though!

Quite enjoyed the Josh Norman/OBJ battle. nice to see some ferocity in football, needs to be more of that in Brit Ball! Though the head hit was just stupidity. If it was a defensive player doing that the ban would be much much more severe

NFC East Champs!!! You like that?!

Honestly, I didn't fancy our chances in Philly. We've not been as good away from FedEx and Philly seemed to be finding some form. Then the opening drive they shot down the field and scored, I almost wanted to turn it off.

Aside from taking a knee at the end of the 2nd half (major brain fart I assume) Cousins had another great game. I hope we get him locked up to a decent contract. Jordan Reed had a great game. I think it's been visible for a while, if he can stay healthy he's dangerous, especially if Jackson stays healthy.

I think we might have Seattle for the playoffs? At home it will be tough but we'll have a chance. I realise we've not yet beaten a team with a winning record though, so I won't be getting carried away with our Division title.

I do look forward to the next couple of seasons now though. With our new GM (that built decent teams in San Fran and Seattle) I feel we're moving the right way and with lots of cap space, we could be much better next season.

If you're a Raiders fan, you should probably be quite happy with the progress made this year, surely?

Five more wins than last year - possibly six? (Unlikely though at Arrowhead) I suppose it is. I won't be happy until they have a .500+ season & they are in Contention for the playoffs until Week 17.

TBH playing in Oakland in that old baseball park hurts them. They need to move again. If Playing In Levi's is a viaable option let them do so. I don't think that moving back to LA would make the team play any better.

LA is crying out for a team, whether a team will move there or the League grants a new Franchise I don't know.

I've been an NFL fan for 30 years & I've stuck by the Raiders through thick & thin times (mostly thin :( ) It would be nice to see them back in LA as that's when I started following them.

Very odd coin toss. I think someone says 'we want to kick', the ref turns to the Pats captain and says 'You want to kick?' to clarify what he heard, Pats captain says 'We want to kick that way. Wait, don't we get to choose?!' 'You chose to kick'. Kinda weird.

If the Rams played the same way against the rest of the league as they do against Seattle they'd be the NFC #1 seed right now!

don't forget its the first half, past experience fisher will bugger it up in the 2nd half with his usual stupid calls :(, plus we've missed ANOTHER kick

watched palmer throw his first interception in 187 attempts and it was to 300lb+ defensive player 8 feet in front of him, like he was invisible  :D

manziel had a decent game from the bits i've seen, shame they ran out of time to finish their last series of plays :(

hey dallas weedon can win as a starter :D

some good & close games tonight, think this is turning into one of the most interesting seasons in a while, shame injuries have affected so many teams tho :(.

edit:

not quite sure what's happening to green bay

Wizard confirmed.

Decline a penalty which would have made it 4th and 10 and then give up a huge play on 3rd and forever, pretty much sums up the Rams this season.

St Louis have a new plan on offence: fumble the ball, let Tim Barnes recover for a first down. Two plays in a row! What are the odds?!?

welcome to my pain :(

we have to be "original" with our offence cos we have so little :D.

seriously wondering about the green bay head coach taking so long to get rodgers out of the firing line :(.

Good win for the bears. Got a good run game going liking the 3 rotating RBs each doing a decent job.

Brother is a Steelers fan, Steelers didn't cut the mustard today, seemed good coaching from the ravens, stopped passes over the top very effectively and although the run game was working, it wasn't enough. Lead a charmed life on the offside penalty on the end zone pick six. Just finished the saints game too, a real shoot out was a fun game to watch don't know if I should credit drew brees for the tight window throwing or if I should discredit it for being a lucky and getting balls into 4 man covers. Was a good game though.

just seen a highlight of an incident in the steelers/ravens game, 100 yd pick 6 called back because a muppet on the opposite side of the ravens defence lined up in the neutral zone, there are some penalties that are stupid but to me that is even beyond stupid, fortunately it didn't cost them.

i'd say woot for the win tonight, but then i take a breath and wonder how, when we beat the seahawks who have been on a decent run, are we 7-8 ????, we could come out with a .500 season BUT we're away to the 49'ers..........

I was wondering the same thing.

I mean as a Vikings fan I should enjoy watching Rodgers get knocked about, but it was getting to the point where I was genuinely becoming concerned for the guy's health.

I can only assume you really didn't see much. I only saw it on RedZone, so not watching it fully, but he looked horrific. So many passes weren't even close to a receiver it was almost embarrassing. He finished 13 of 32 for 136 and a pick. Reminded me of Tebow.

just bits from the redzone highlights, most of it scrambling and making plays, must have been bad if he's got a tebow comparison :D.

Caught a little aggro with Johnny Hekker (punter) from the Rams, flagged for an unnecessary roughness penalty on a blindside hit of Cliff Avril then spent the rest of the game living in fear of hits from the Seahawks, he was flinching anytime they got near him, hopefully teach him not to be such a muppet in future :D

as for the rams :

For the first time in 71 regular-season and postseason games, Wilson's Seahawks never held a lead, breaking the longest such streak in NFL history.

That leads me to the question of :

if we can do that to the seahawks, where the hell is that sort of performance against the teams closest to us

Chip Kelly has been fired by the Eagles; I guess I shouldn't be surprised considering their form this season, but this one still came as a shock to me.

Any other college football fans here? We're in the middle of bowl season, and there's some big games coming up this week...

I'd be quite angry if I was an Eagles fan, he comes in, gets rid of their good players and then gets the boot...
This is why he's been shown the door, if you shake up a team as much as Kelly has then you'd better deliver immediate results.

I don't think he's a bad coach, but he shouldn't be given a head coach and general manager role like he was at Philly.
