NFL 2016 Season

My stomach is in knots thinking about today's Cowboy game against the Redskins.

While the Cowboys are certainly on a heater, the Redskins are playing some great ball.... and last Sunday's game was amazing for them. Cousins has hit his stride and they've found a running game. Then toss in that it's a division game and we beat them earlier this year..... they'll be out for blood.

Still, I think the 'Boys will win, but it won't be easy.

I'm not actually looking forward to it now... I'm sure you'll understand, I hate to lose to the Cowboys. On the other hand, we are hot at the moment... as are the Cowboys though. The last 15-20 years have conditioned me to expect the worse though :(

I went to see us play in Jerry World (amazing stadium), I think 4 years ago, RG3's first season. We took a huge lead in the first quarter and then had to fight for 3 quarters to hold on. Only the failed onside kick sealed it for us. I couldn't enjoy the win as I spent most of the game expecting for us to lose!

I notice a few people are picking Washington though. Should be a good game at least.

I'm just hoping we sign Cousins to a long term deal. I like what Scot McCloughan is doing. He's got history with building amazing teams in the past, so I'm just happy with the direction we're going. Hopefully we can be another page in his CV.

I'm thinking of going to a game on my next trip to the US but I had a quick look at the ticket prices for the Giants, Jets and Patriots games and they're pretty insane. I was thinking of perhaps going to a pre-season game instead.

Anyone know if it's worth it, or will the atmosphere be down due to it not really meaning much compared to the regular season. Wouldn't want to go to a half empty stadium.

I would say don't bother with a pre-season. The atmosphere is what you want to experience and as you suggest, it just wont be there in pre-season.

What sort of prices are you seeing? I think I usually end up paying somewhere between £100 and £200 per ticket.

I would also recommend a college game. Even better atmosphere tbh.

Hmm, I thought as much.

I think tickets were nearer the $200-$300 mark from memory, and they were the 'cheap 'seats. However it's nearing the end of the season and it's a bit last minute. If I were to look as soon as they become available in the pre-season hopefully they'll be cheaper.

I've watched a few college games on BT sports and some of the stadiums look incredible with huge attendances. Isn't the majority of the crowd incredibly drunk students though?!

Don't waste your money on a pre-season game. You won't know most of the players on the field and the game itself will likely be subpar. JMO

Of course I understand. I feel the same about the Redskins, Giants and most especially the Eagles.

But, here's the thing, Dallas is far more likely to lose to a division rival at this point than to any other team.

FYP :D

College games can be more intense than Pro and the crowds are far more into it than in the Pros.

Personally I don't follow college FB, but it can still be a very fun experience.

.... also, I wouldn't put too much stock in the PF stat.. overall it's a useless number when comparing two teams.

I just thought it was strange that a team leading their division has a negative points difference. They're the only one (leading team) from the 8 divisions.

Tonight's first game looks hard to call. The bookies seem to have it right - 4-5 Detroit Lions v 6-5 Minnesota Vikings. The Seattle Seahawks are the only team to concede less points than the Vikings this season.

I'll guess at a low scoring & narrow Minnesota win.

Not that it matters one whit, but the line here in the US is Lions -2.5 with the pick being they'll cover and win straight up.

It's a division game.... anything can happen.

I got a chuckle out of this. :D

Should you ever find yourself in the US don't say this out loud ... especially if you're in Minnesota or Michigan. ;):)

Haha, no I wouldn't do that...

You won't catch me wearing anything other than the Cardinals shirt, but among the rest there a few teams that I favour over others.

WTF? It takes some talent to turn a 20 second national anthem into a 5 minute song. Well done Aretha Franklin. What a car crash. :D

Well a disappointing first half for the Skins. Nothing has been a real surprise (aside how easy the Cowboys first drive was...) and I feel on another day we'd only be 4 points down.

As in we really should have found the endzone at least once and really should have made one of those missed FG's. Still, the Cowboys and Dak are making plays when they need to and we're not, so credit to them.

I enjoyed that.

What am I missing in the Colts v Steelers game? Pittsburgh are around 1-4 with Indianapolis at 7-2. Pittsburgh have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Are they that much better than the Colts?
