NFL 2016 Season

rams have settled back into their usual average performances, when you get 5 sacks on their qb and ours throws for close to 300 yds i have no idea how you lose a game, fisher is going to a whole nother level this season :(

keenum is still killing us with interceptions, he gets a drive going then just drops out, recievers haven't helped at times but he should do better.

got my fingers crossed theirs a half decent kicker around in the 2nd/3rd round of the draft.

Vikings have dropped off a cliff since the Bye week :(

Only helped by the Packers being average this year although the Lions can push for the NFC North title.

My Broncos are so hit and miss this year, lack of a franchise QB is really starting to hurt :(

Yeah the established teams seem to be all over the place. Steelers have lost 3 in a row and now sit 4-4, which is crap considering they were one of the favourites for the AFC (with the Pats and Broncos).

Looks like the Raiders will be joining the Patriots in the AFC as 2nd seed. Which given how awful they were 3 years ago is one hell of an achievement. Khalil Mack is starting to fire as well for them after a slow start to the year.

As for the Steelers I'm just going to bang my head against a wall to see if that helps to make sense of why they are struggling.

to be fair 20 points last season would have won them games with their defence, has their defence gone down a bit or is it injuries ?

seem to be a lot just seem to have forgotten how to play, usually you have a few candidates for the championship games but i'm hard pressed to see outside of the pats/cowboys at the mo, just due to all the inconsistancies.

saw complaints about the rams being shut out for 3 quarters against the panthers, tho i dont think he's decent enough for a starter can't blame that on keenum, we've needed to improve the offensive line and our recievers for a few seasons, but they dumped a chunk of draft options on goff, who i don't rate a 1st pick.

I've not looked into the stats on this, but I think its our poor offense forcing our D to work that much harder. Last year we weren't setting the league alight offensively, but we were holding onto the ball, moving the chains and eating up the clock.

This year it feels like we're seeing a lot more 3 and outs, and that means more time for the D on the field, they're more fatigued and giving up more points.

Also we're a pretty amazing pass-rush team, but the Raiders found a way to just bulldoze through us on the ground. Not many times will have the ground game to do that.

Another awful showing from the Steelers  I wonder what Tomlin's excuse will be this time ? As good as that last drive was, we left them way too much time. Should have been taking time off the clock instead of leaving 40 odd seconds when they only needed 3 to win.

Oh well Browns next week. Let's see if we can somehow lose that one

shocking win by the rams, 0 for 3 in the red zone and we couldn't get the ball in from the 1 yd line with a 1st & 10 what the hell...........

apparently we lead the league in 3 & outs , not the sort of stat you want.

amazing end to the cowboys/steelers game, credit to prescott outstanding last effort, aided by a stupid penalty from the steelers, but it paid back for a missed face mask earlier in the series.

what's happening in green bay , just heard rodgers was sacked 5 times and still put up close to 400 yds in the loss to Tennessee.

weird ending to the denver game, saints must be gutted.

i think you've got enough to take the browns :)

I'm not sure how you watch that game and come away thinking that the Steelers were 'awful'.

They gave as good as they got, they just came up short.

didn't do themselves any favours going for the 2 pointer's , not sure if it's cos they don't trust their kicker, but going for the 2 points from the get go is crazy, it's unneeded pressure because if you miss it, and most i've seen have been, then your in trouble for the rest of the game trying to get the points back.

i'll agree they've played worse this season, but going into the last minute or so you'd expect to hold on unless there was an amazing play, stupid penalty helped the cowboys when there was really no need for it.

With the new PAT rule some of the 'standard' thinking is changing in the NFL. 2 point conversions are way up from historical levels. While I also tend to think that it was a mistake to go for it on their first TD.. mainly because that almost forced them to continue chasing those points.. but in the end, despite attempting 4, 2 point conversions, it made no difference. They lost by 5 points. Had they gone for the traditional 1 pt conv. after each TD, and made them all, they would have still lost by1 point. Of course the converse to that is that had they made at least 3 of those they'd have won by 1 point.

All penalties are stupid including that one, and so was the facemask that didn't get called on the previous play. But, Dallas was penalized 10 times for 98 yards while Pitt was penalized 4 times for 40 yards.

Bad timing to be sure.

The Steelers are in a bit of a funk lately, that's obvious. But they didn't play awful last night. They fought hard, made a few more mistakes than Dallas did, and came up a bit short.

That was, without a doubt, the best game I've seen in the NFL this season. I just happen to be a Cowboys fan.

Don't sell the Steelers short. They lost, but they played one hell of a game.

Some classic Jay Cutler on the weekend. If the Bears don't draft a QB this time, I'm going to give up on them and switch to the Packers.

I hope you joke because if not then you're not really a Bears fan.

In my lifetime the Bears have never had a so called franchise QB. McMahon, Cutler and Harbaugh were the best, but otherwise we had some right shockers at QB. Of course I 100% agree the Bears need to find a QB and I think one of Pace's biggest mistakes so far has not having a developmental QB on the roster (the Saints never needed to in his time there so I wonder if this is linked). Particularly in such a write off season like this.

PS. And yes the Bears O was shocking again. Was a disappointing game to watch after the much better Vikings game.

I thought the 1st 2 point attempt was actually a good idea.

The Steelers got a turnover on the Cowboys first possession and then scored a touchdown from it. Going for Getting 2 points there gives a big psychological boost over your opponent. Things went wrong when the Steelers kept going for 2, trying to chase back those missed points.

I'm a little frustrated that we lost, but before the game I was expecting to lose badly so from that perspective the game wasn't too bad.

The problem is that the Steelers are pretty terrible on the road and 4 of our next 5 games are on the road. Winning the division is going to be difficult from here and with 5 losses already I don't see a wildcard spot in the playoffs either.

So whilst losing to the Cowboys is nothing to be ashamed of, it is quite possibly the loss that means we miss the playoffs.
