NH-D14

Kinda old post, but I see the Thermalright came into stock, and immediatly sold out :(

I notice they're 26.5mm thick, will they still fit in the middle of the Noctua? I really want some PWM fans. Are you guys using only one of these Thermalrights, or do you slap on 3 of them? :)

The TY-14x series fans fit in NH-D14 coolers.

Most use 2x fans. 3rd is up to you but you probably won't be able to see any difference in temps. Other potential problem with three is distance between back fan and rear exhaust fan will be very close.

Alright, thanks. But if you stick another of the TYs at the front, won't it interfere with my ram? Currently using the stock 120mm, and there is like 1mm clearance.

Depends on RAM height and case clearance.
Case spec for CPU clearance + 5mm is maximum combined height of RAM + 140mm fan.

Yeah I expect so. I don't think I put those sound dampening grommits on it when I fitted it as I was getting ***** off with the back plate alignment I just wanted it fitted after dealing with that.

It may be that they are moving (ever so slightly) when the ramp up then and brushing the heatsink..

That would explain it..

Though i could have just made that up. :)

That kind of makes sense. When I first installed it the coolers power cable kept hitting the middle fan as I hadn't tucked it in properly and that did make a big noise maybe I should see if its still in the way.

I have just moved my system into a prodigy and still managed to use the D14. It was a bit fiddly getting it in but with the Asus PZ877-I board it fits pretty much perfect. I swapped the 140mm fan to the back and used the 120mm in the middle and it works perfect with great temps.

Cool setup

What kind of temps are you getting in this case ?

The temps are under 70.c 2500k @ 4.6ghz on very high burn test. The airflow in the Prodigy is superb. I have a 230mm Bitfenix fan in the front which blows a lot of air directly at the D14.

If anything the temps are a little better than in my Arc Midi with 5 x 140mm fans.

Here is a pic without the Gpu installed. The D14 is almost a perfect fit into the Prodigy with the Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe board

The 230mm front fan blows directly onto the D14.
