If she's one of those looking after my family they deserve it. As do so many others in the NHS. I'd rather the money went to their pay however than a token gesture like that.I thought all the doctores went home after Brexit?
The NHS gave my wife a medal this week so it's not all bad.
Duh! Haven’t you heard of floor aids?
Was it gold silver or bronze? Only gold gets the pay rise to go with it.I thought all the doctores went home after Brexit?

He's sleeping it offI find it very interesting that the headcase that started this thread with his semi-literate rant of bullflop hasn't posted since.
I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who works in the NHS. Over worked, underpaid and certainly under appreciated.
I've used it a fair amount for various reasons in the last 7 or so years and in my experience, it's great in an emergency but for everything else it's not worth the time and hassle. Just getting an appointment with a GP where I live is absolutely farcical.
I actually think the health service is one thing that would greatly benefit from way more automation.
My family are very tempted to seek legal advice on the care my mother has received in hospital. I'm HUGE fan of the NHS but her care hasn't been anywhere near up to scratch.
She fell over 3 weeks ago and broke her hip. They operated 2 days later and fitted a new hip. On the 2nd night after the operation she somehow fell out of bed. Why the sides of her bed weren't pulled up is a mystery, this is a ward just full of old ladies having hip ops. Fortunately she didn't damage the hip or break anything else. A week later when a nurse was walking her to the toilet, the nurse left her side to go and get some gloves and she fell. After an x-ray it turns out she had dislocated the same hip in the fall. My understanding is that the new socket got pulled out of the pelvis. We were told this required a specialist surgeon to correct, the surgeon called us the next day saying that all they could do was remove the new hip and leave her with no hip joint. I was surprised to hear people can still walk with no hip joint, although she will require at least 1 walking stick. He said the muscle and tendons will support her. Problem is she is fairly frail and there is little muscle left on her. She was caring for my disabled father, there is no chance of her being in good enough mobility to do that again. I don't like the idea of suing the NHS but their lack of care is going to have major implications on both her and my dad.

They'll expect me to go for my booster jab ASAP but if they want me to play by their rules, no inhaler? No booster jab until I get my inhaler then.

Gps arent NHS.
in fact they are increasingly one of the most privatised with increasing US involvement. IIRC the GP practices aren't just being allowed to renew but have to competitively tender and those tenders seem to favour big corps in terms of the weighting they place on certain categories. You can have very well run practices being told they can't just carry on. That stinks to me. our excellent GP practice has been subsumed into a multi practice behemoth and suddenly we can no longer ring up anymore. Everything has to be a written online form and it goes nowhere. And this is supposedly more efficient. My hairy backside.Gps arent NHS.
