Nice pongs and gorgeous whiffs. The Aftershave thread!

Luna Rossa Black was purchase at first sniff for me. Excellent stuff. :D

I want to like LR Black because I love LR Sport and LR Carbon but this just didn't do it for me... the top notes a little on the sweet side. Probably need to pop into the shop again and have a squirt and walk it off for a few hours to see if the warm spicy base notes offset the sweet middle and top notes.

Aye. It can be a bit on the sweet side (borderline cloying) You should probably hold off trying it until the weather cools down a tad. And use a maximum of two sprays.

Although it does work great for evenings. Warm or cold :)

Thought I'd give Musk & Hustle a try having seen @Psycho Sonny mention them.

Gone for the 24, 37, 116 and 208 (Creed, Bleu de Chanel, Grey Vetiver and Oud Wood).

Interested to see how they turn out!

They aren't like normal fragrances. It's a roller ball. They advise you to rub them in certain areas (phwoar) rather than the traditional ones which you spray over yourself.

longevity can be a bit hit or miss or is that me just getting used to the smell so i can't notice it any more?

My wife says she can still smell Aventus on me when I get home, I can hardly smell it a couple of hours later. I guess I'm getting used to it.

I took the time to wander over to Harvey Nicks where they have the entire Creed range available for squirting onto those tiny cards as you please. Was quite surprised considering it's £255 a bottle in there.

Personally, I don't like it (Aventus), and I have found one bloke in the office that does. None of the girls have been keen. Going to see what the wife says when I get back. I'll try the rest of the Creed range one day when I've got a bit more time to see if there's anything I prefer..

Most of the complements I've had have been when I've been using Channel Blue! Mind you, when I started using that, I thought it was far too strong (even in tiny doses), but ended up getting used to it. I've been using Paul Smith over the last few months just to get rid of it, and it smells nice but literally lasts an hour.

I've also been trying to get through a bottle of Mont Blanc - Emblem that I've had for ages, and the staying power of that one is pretty impressive. I've been able to smell that one on my neck tube for days after using it.

I didn't really like Aventus when I first tried it, about 20-30 minutes later I really liked it. I thought it started off a bit too fruity but it turns nicely into a woody sort of deeper smell.

I bought a bottle of Virgin Island water too, it is pretty summery and smells like coconuts, nice and fresh for this heat.

My Mrs is wearing Baccarat (I think it is rouge 540??? dont quote me) it smells like candy floss.....love it lol. She had some sprayed on her at HN, after 10 minutes walking around with her I bought a bottle of it for her.

I've got a decant of BR540, yes its unisex, as I was curious as to what it was like, it's a very nice scent, and quite unique. But not an everyday scent for me.

On the subject of other Creed frags, good ones for summer are Viking, Himalaya, GIT. Royal Oud is lovely too, but only in the colder months.

I gave away my bottle of himalaya. Just wasn't my thing and had an odd note I didn't enjoy.
GIT reminds me of davidoff cool water lol
GIT is a more complex scent, but the drydown is quite similar

I have three regulars at the moment:

Christian Dior - Sauvage
Issey Miyake - Pour Homme
Paco Rabanne - Ultraviolet

Also a fan of Guerlain, probably my favourite, but it's been a while since I purchased a bottle.

Does it smell exactly like creed aventus?

Yep, got a tester from ebay a while back and smells the same. They did change Armaf I'm told a while back to try and match the opening smell. Armaf has a lemony smell, whereas creed is pineapple but after it's settled down a bit it totally changes to just like creed. To be honest, I really like the lemon smell personally. I think if you put both on the back of each hand and keep smelling them both you can just about notice a more mellowey smell from creed but if you wore them on their own on back to back days, you wouldnt tell in a blind test. Remember, there are many different batches of creed so it depends on which batch you are testing aganist.

Oh, word of warning about perfume parlour. There creed isn't as close as armaf, and some of their other aftershaves don't last five minutes. I have eight different ones from them and only spice bomb and green tweed last any lenght of time. Also, they tend to be a bit sticky and one of them gave me a rash and sore neck.
