Nice pongs and gorgeous whiffs. The Aftershave thread!

Creed Aventus is my standard. However, i do tend to grab bottle of Tom Ford - Velvet Orchid (Eau de Parfum for her) in duty free. Its a perfume, but meh! i like the smell as an aftershave :)

^ Most Tom Ford’s, especially the Private Blends are supposed to be unisex.

There’s certain scent profiles I tend to associate as more masculine or feminine, e.g. I don’t want to smell like a bouquet of flowers and associate that smell with something women would wear - but really fragrance is very personal and you can wear what you like - if I have any rule it’s just that the scent is appropriate for the situation or season (e.g. not wearing something heavy and thick for the gym in the summer) in the same way as wearing the right clothing for what you’re doing is.

Also cologne, eau de toilette, eau de parfum, parfum, parfum extrait etc are all just indicators of the fragrance concentration not the which sex a scent is marketed towards - parfum = perfume.

After my above post, today i wore Oud Orange Intense today. In my opinion a good all rounder nothing too flowery, nothing too musky. A long lasting fragrance with Vanilla and Coconut being the prominant aroma to my untrained nose!

Coconut, Fruits

Vanilla Bourbon

Vanilla, Musk, 100% pure organic vintage Oud

Definitely one I'd consider buying from what I've tried so far in the two sample sets along with the London Oud and Milano.

Today's sample was Oud Rose Intense. Certainly a lighter fruitier fragrance than Oud Orange. I don't think it lasted as well as Oud Orange either or my nose just failed to pick up any faint whiffs later on in the day. Pleasant enough though probably a bit too feminine for my tastes.

I concur on the Black Orchid, a great scent.

I’ve just had the Bloom Perfumery 2020 bestsellers for men sample pack arrive so looking forward to going through those.

If you’re into nice scents, then they do a voucher scheme where you buy vouchers and then can use them to purchase 10ml samples of pretty much everything in their site. Not cheap, but potentially better than buying full bottles and although I like the 1ml sample, 10ml gives you more chance to try them out.

Guys bit of a spec me plz

I'm in a hot climate where 30c+ is normal and need a scent that will stay strong throughout the day.

The Arabs out here swear by the ouds and they are way too strong for me so wanted something a bit more middle ground. I swore by cdni whilst in the UK but it does very little in the extreme heat.

Anyway I'm back in the UK for the hols and wanted to pic something up so give me your suggestions.
Budget friendly and preferably available from Amazon or somewhere online as don't fancy heading out.

Thanks

Versace man day fraiche, lasts hours on me and is fresh.

Or John vervatos artisan pure.

Spray your clothes instead of your skin or carry a travel atomiser and re-apply frequently; there isn’t much that can last in very hot and sweaty conditions and most of the nuclear fragrances that are very oily tend to be heavy too as you’ve discovered.
