Twin electric worms are fairly easy as long as you pay attention to them both (not easy to do at first). I prefer to use the Vigoorian Flails and Windmill Shuriken to take them on (throw the shuriken whenever you're not being attacked, and they're not close enough to hit). Remember to take your time, there's no prize for beating them as fast as possible. Just dodge their attacks, then lay down a fast combo (hence the flails) and get out the way. Don't bother with Ninpo, it's basically useless, they'll hide in their caves before you can cast it.

One cheap way of beating them is a way I found on the Shinobier videos (get them if you haven't). Wait until they come out straight to try to eat you, quickly roll to the side, then just keep tapping X to hit them. Make sure you don't do it quick enough to start a proper combo, but not so slow that they get away. Just keep single hitting them and you can take off an entire health bar in one go (this can be used on ANY worm throughout the game, and beat them all in under a minute - works on hard levels too). If you do this on the twin worms (I used it against them on hard), just remember to keep an eye on the other worm. He won't try to swipe you if the other worm is already out there, but he will spit electricity at you, so be ready to quit your combo and move.

As for the 60 bug fiend challenge, you have 2 options. Either use your Dragon Sword and use the flying sparrow a lot (forward jump + Y), or use the Dabilarho (especially if it's been upgraded), and lots of ultimate techniques. I prefer the Dabilarho (or Unlaboured Flawlessness if you have it), as a full XXXXX combo can take at least 3 out, then roll out of the way, and charge up a full essense techniques = death on major scale. Just don't stand around still too long, they can be very nasty, just keep blocking and rolling and jumping, and you'll be fine.

Strangely enough, I actually found the bug challenge to be really really difficult and annoying. I managed it, but not before using all my potions and cursing a bit.

I was using the Vigoorian flails, though, which I thought would be the best weapon seeing as you spend most of the time surrounded (and they're quite fast).

TBH I've given up on the Hurricane pack, having STILL not got past Murai.

Think I'll have to beat the game on hard and V. hard before I'm in with a chance, really.

Yeah, I found it hard at first, and it only gets worse on harder levels (80 on hard, 100 on very hard), but with practise it gets easier.

I can't wait to get the Hurricane pack. I think I'm pretty good at the game now (going to try very hard this weekend), so would like to see how I do on the ultra-hard HP.

I played through the first two cahpters I think. I got stuck trying to take out the Bloke on the Horse. Gave up in the end and haven't gone back to it.

Might have to try again at the weekend.

Was it the multiple guys on horses, or the end boss on a horse with the mages around? Let me know which and I can give you some tips :)

Completed the Hurricane pack yesterday. To be honest, I didn't find it THAT hard. I'm pretty sure Ninja Gaiden on Very Hard is harder than the Hurricane pack.

Alma and Doku's second form were very hard but apart from that I didn't encounter impossible fights.

The fiend challenge right after Doku's second form is hard though, anyone beat it yet? I had a few attempts, died, became bored and gave up :D

This has to be the first time I've replayed a game, which says a lot. Yes Ninja Gaiden is that good. :)

Roll on Hurricane Pack 2 !

I don't remember a fiend challenge after Doku's second form (unless you mean when you enter the fiend realm, in which case I have completed it). There's a red dragon fiend challenge after his first form which I've also done.

Really, there's so many great games around at the moment, and naturally I have to buy the best ones as soon as they come out, so I rarely complete a game more than once these days. Maybe all that'll change when I'm back at uni :p

Oops, my bad, I missquoted. I meant the fiend challenge after Doku's first form.

Did you complete it in the regular Ninja Gaiden or HP?

Not got the HP yet, so have only completed the 80 fiend challenge in hard mode (no elixers or ninpo required, god bless the Unlaboured Flawlessness and level 3 Dabilarho :D).

Patience, timing, and the ability to keep moving without getting hit is what you need. Anyone who has a throw uses it much more often, and as it does more damage, you don't want to stand around and wait to be hit. Perfect your counter attacks and your chances immediately shoot up :)

E.g same gameplay style, graphics, moves etc.

It's a similar game, it's a 3rd person action game so of course it's going to be similar in parts. I don't think it's that close though, there are plenty of differences between the 2 games (no guns, blocking, loads more weapons, tons of combos, etc etc). DMC is very good though, looking forward to the 3rd one :)

ARGH how annoying is this game sometimes !! Absolutely belting but jees, im on a bit now where ive saved it and the bomb throwing ninja guys keep spawning everytime I die and respawn :( .... you kill em an save, yet they still come back... :s

The black ninja's can be dealt with very easily with a bit of time and patience. First of all, realise that when you're blocking, even the incendiary shuriken they throw can't hurt you, nor do their attacks. With this in mind, blocking is an easy way to stay alive. Now make sure you have your Dragon Sword upgraded to level 2, and the Izuna Drop purchased from Muramasa (you should have done this on level 3). So, keep blocking against the ninja's, and watch their attacks. You'll figure out the combo's they use, and therefore when you can stop blocking and use your own attacks. When you attack, use the Izuna Drop (XYXXXY), and you'd have one dead ninja. Rinse and repeat as necessary. With a bit of practise you can stop being so defensive and start carving them up from the moment they appear on screen. :)

I am about to go to college in about an hour and after talking to my mate say it was brill I was tempted to buy it.

Now I have read a bit of this thread and you guys and gals rave about it.

I think I might have to get it when I'm at college :D

One thing I need to ask.

Can you only have one weapon?

Like you can only carry one around?
