*** Nintendo Switch ***

I've just sold mine.

The combination of changing life circumstances and lack of any new standout Switch exclusives saw the console fall by the wayside for me this year. Even on the rare occasions that I've been out, I've found myself preferring to use Game Pass for Android, or Stadia, and continue playing the games I play at home.

I can see myself buying another one once BOTW2 and Metroid Prime 4 have come out. But it seemed sensible to get shot for now, given it's just sat in a cupboard doing nothing.

I haven’t touched mine in a long time due to game pass.

Its been a really crap year for the Switch IMO unless you either love niche indie games or you are a fan of specific genres.

BOTW won't be out for another year or more and god knows when MP4 will come out. Wouldn't be surprised if it ends up like BOTW and straddles generations. They have just advertised for a boss designer....

Can't help but feel Nintendo have been super lazy with first party IP and have been happy to put out either lazy examples of their IP, re-release old ones or simply promote indie games.

Where is this generations mario kart? Where is Pikmin 4. We have only had one main Mario game and a zelda game that was built for the Wii U.

I bought only Animal Crossing and the 3D Mario collection this year plus indies on sale. AC lasted me 100 or so hours but I can't play it anymore. I'm going away soon so I'll be taking the Switch with me, so I'll get some time with it. It's been a while though. I'll probably finish off Sunshine and then play Galaxy next. The PS5 has taken up all of my time in the past month or so.

The Switch has sold loads this year even with the next generation consoles being released. So Nintendo feels no need to release any new games and take it easy until sales drop off again.

Looks like the sale has started a bit early. DekuDeals twitter has gone crazy and their site has crashed

Exactly, which is what winds me up. It’s treating the consumers like mugs. Why bother making an effort when you don’t have to.

£24 now for Immortals! Crazy.

Is it good on the switch? I really want to get this game now at this price but unsure if better to get it on Xbox/PS4 or PC? I loved BOTW playing it on my switch in portable mode. Probably the only reason I was able to complete it was the ease of picking it up for 20 minutes at a time.

According to the YouTube channel SwitchUp, there was a patches released and it runs at a stable 30fps

My Switch has bit the dust no power at all just over a month ago. :(

At first i thought it could be the battery with it being a launch 2017 model, but no luck still dead after changing the battery, USB-C port was fine so something on the motherboard must had gone, so I eventually sold it on ebay for spares & repairs.
I was going to hang on till next year & wait and see if the Pro version ever see's light of day rather than spend £279 on a new one, as i kept the Pro controller, 400GB memory card & the games.

I'm now really missing my Switch but still don't really want to spend £279 on a new one, so I've been thinking is it worth getting the Switch Lite to pass the time with until next year?

Yeah, I would get a Switch Lite for now.

Why didn't you send it off to Nintendo for repair? Cost too high?

With it being out of warranty thought just best to sell it for spares, don't wanna risk buying second hand.

I'll pick up a Lite tomorrow.

I've wanted a Switch for ages but now even more so now that I've seen the Animal Crossing game. The only problem is that I don't have a TV. Only have a 4k 27" monitor. Luckily my computer connects via DisplayPort so the HDMI port is free but its not ideal as I also wanted to use a Blu-ray player with it.

Is a Switch Lite a bad purchase? I mean would I miss anything if I got one? I'd only play it single player.

I have the Lite and its great. I only plat by myself and never use it on my TV so the Lite was perfect.

I used to have the regular one but sold it and got the Lite as never used it docked.

I picked up a Switch Lite on Monday. :) , went for the Turquoise Animal Crossing one.
Didn't take it out of the box until both screen protector & case showed up which was next day, screen protector went straight on out of the box.

Now i've had it nearly a week got all my games back on it i wish i got one of these earlier, it's great much more comfortable to use portable than the original Switch was.

This will easily see me though next year until hopefully we see at least a decent revision of the Switch.
