*** Nintendo Switch ***

I've wanted a Switch for ages but now even more so now that I've seen the Animal Crossing game. The only problem is that I don't have a TV. Only have a 4k 27" monitor. Luckily my computer connects via DisplayPort so the HDMI port is free but its not ideal as I also wanted to use a Blu-ray player with it.

This might come across as a dumb question, but have you checked if your monitor has more than 2 inputs? My current and last 2 monitors took 2 x HDMI, 1 DP and 1 mini-DP. My Switch and my work's laptop use the 2 HDMI inputs and my home laptop uses the mini-DP. Worth checking. Hell, even my work's monitor (when I saw it pre-lockdown in March) took all of the above.

Oh, you are right. It has one DisplayPort and two HDMI. Guess I can plug my Blu-ray player in and get a proper Nintendo Switch at the same time then.

Cool. Thanks. I might just have to pick one up in that case.

Lite is great if you don't play local multiplayer, I have 2 kids and we all play together on the same Animal Crossing island so a Lite wouldn't be a good fit for me personally.

Having friends over not a thing right now but can't beat a bit of local multiplayer Mario Kart.

Also, I really enjoyed playing Breath of the Wild on a big screen, still amazing in handheld but you can really take in the amazing landscape on a big screen.

Grab Hades, best game of the year for me and absolutely perfect for Switch :)

This looks great, but I'm not usually a fan of rogue-likes as I can't be doing with repeating the same levels over and over.

Is it just the grind for new gear or abilities that keeps you playing?

Got my daughters (7&4) a Switch for Christmas with Just Dance 2020 as they enjoy copying dances on YouTube, gone down well so far but they're already asking for some other games?
What do you recommend? I was thinking of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with 2 extra joycons so the 4 of us can play.

Can't go wrong with Mario Kart, plus it has assists to help the kids such as keeping them driving and staying on the track which is great for my 3 year old who otherwise wouldn't be able to play.

My kids love Animal Crossing and since you all share the same island can play together.

Great much appreciated, just need to wait for it to come back down on Amazon :D

Mario Kart 8 - 3 player split screen.

Is it possible to change the 4th screen to the map? It was in Wii U

Hey all any recommendations for local 4 player games ?

We have played as a family Mario kart and that chicken horse ultimate game to death.

Kids are 6 & 8 so something family based
