*** Nintendo Switch ***

I'm not actually sure what they like. It's definitely not game development.

Money. Easy, regular money. Which is what they get. Same as CoD, same as FIFA. There is almost zero incentive to innovate or deliver a high effort high quality product when they will make 95% of the profit with an easy cash grab. Low risk, high reward. We get the games we deserve.

Doesn’t Nintendo own game freak?

This just seems to be another one of those rushed releases to meet an arbitrary deadline set by executive level management to add to the pile.
About a 1/3 I believe. The other 2/3 are owned by Creatures (TCG and other merch and assist in art assets I believe) and Gamefreak (The games). Nintendo is mostly just the publisher and the other two have their own autonomy. Besides why would Nintendo care when it's bring in $$$$$$$$$ every release?

Problem with Game Freak imo is they were a top down specialist developer that’s been trying to become a third person RPG studio fairly quickly.

I’ve just picked up a switch after wanting one since release. I love it, playing through Pokémon Shield currently.

I wouldn’t say fairly quickly, it’s been many many years. If a company with this wealth can’t manage then just stop trying. Give it to a team that can make modern games, without giving up the rights.
It’s sad that they feel no shame.

Haven't touched mine in probably nearly a year. Very little has interested me of late. I want a new Mario game, the new Zelda, Metroid 4, the new hollow knight, the next mario kart.

I think I will finally sell mine after playing the new Zelda. Nintendo just take way too long to release games these days. Next time I will wait and buy their next console once all games are out, play them and sell on. Can't believe the Switch has yet to get it's own Mario Kart game yet.

Thier last great system was the Wii. So many great first party games. Shame.

For me it's the hardware that's holding me back from using my Switch right now. I think the game library for Switch is great, but some of the more recent releases really struggle performance wise. I'm still of the opinion that the likes of Metroid 4, Mario Kart etc will only appear when the "new" Switch is released.

Don't mind the hardware at all. I am just interested in first party games from Nintendo. Anything else I play on PC. Breath of the Wild did not need great hardware to make it a lot of fun.

What I wanted was another 3D Mario, Mario Kart and Zelda at the very least by now. Ideally more first party stuff like Punch Out and F-Zero. But got jack **** for waiting all this time. All we know for sure is Zelda is coming in a few months.

Saying that I did enjoy the 2D Metroid game we got last year. Only game I think I bought the whole of 2022.

Recently I saw an article on the internet reporting a "leak" of a new 3D Mario game. No idea on a release date though.

guys....

mario 3d or zelda ?

only ever played zelda on gameboy.

went for mario kart but dont like it...

need something relaxing, interesting liked mario and rabbids if that helps.

any advise welcome.thanks

I bought let’s go pikachu and tbh it was awful. Felt like a phone game. Never again.
Yes, it's basically a remake of Gen 1, with some Pokemon GO! mechanics added.

It's really for fans of the original, or Pokemon Go, rather than wider playerbase IMO. I enjoyed it just to see the revamped original areas, music etc.

Had the switch for a couple of months now.

Game I have
- spark of hope
- breathe of the wild
- mario kart delux
- dragon ball
- sports
- switch play

Been playing the BoTW and sparks the most. Both are extremely addictive.

Got some credit in my eShop account to spend and I was tempted to pick up some more games in the New Year sale but I think I am going to save it for any Tears of the Kingdom DLC that might come out. I can't see that they wouldn't release any seeings as they did for Breath of the Wild

I shouldn't be surprised it's selling so well, but my god I can't think of anything worse than playing some choppy and game that can't even hold 30 FPS looking at you breath of the wild.

Is it just me, or is it impossible to buy Joy-Con controllers right now? All of the major stockists are out and it's ruined my Mario Party 4-player plan :D
