*** Nintendo Switch ***

I get that; I suppose it is my own circumstances that play a part. I WfH and rarely have a need to commute for work so when I do I always travel very light, preferably bagless. As you say perhaps a few killer games will sell it for me. We'll see...

Don't get me wrong; I absolutely want it to succeed after the disappointment of the WiiU.

It is portable though? It's hardly pocket sized. This is the bit I'm struggling with.

Half the phones on sale these days don't fit in a pocket, let alone tablets and people don't mind taking them everywhere.

It's small enough to put in a carry case and chuck in a bag and play on the train so I'd say it's pretty portable.

I have to travel for work, won't be taking my Xbox One or PS4 along for the ride but when I'm stuck in a dull hotel being able to fire up Zelda will be a welcome relief.

And with most hotels having a HDTV, having the messenger bag means you could take the dock and put the HDMI in the back of the TV. At least that's what I'd do anyway.

So just leave it docked and play it that way.

If Zelda, Mario Kart and Odyssey aren't selling it then probably not the machine for you matey.

It would be nice to have a cheaper home console version for those who aren't interested in the portability aspect.

I'll not be listening to the reviews but there is no way I can resist not checking them. If they give Zelda a bad review, It'll not bother me, never not liked a Zelda game yet.

To be honest I am 99% sure the game will be good anyway from what I have seen. But on the off chance it is not as good as expected then I will just cancel my pre-order as I can pick one up later when there are more games. But I would still play it, just later :)

True, but highly unlikely to happen. What I would prefer is if they just make a Switch Pro/4K or something that is much more powerful when docked. But to be honest I am not too bothered. I am happy with the Switch as it is, I get my graphics fix from the PC; I just want good quality Nintendo games on the Switch like Zelda.

Just can't get excited for this. The 3DS was a wonderful proper handheld console. The Wii introduced the Wiimote and some excellent games (SMG) but with the WiiU and now this I just don't get it. :(

I really want to but I just don't. Perhaps after some reviews...

You're obviously a gamer drawn to gimmicks. The Wii and Wii U were abysmal for proper gaming and the 3DS' success is largely down to lack of competition in the market(Sony's handhelds have always been half baked attempts with no support). In that respect VR might be more up your street.

You obviously aren't a proper gamer if you don't think Mario Galaxy on the Wii and Mario 3D World or Mario Kart on the Wii U are proper games, I can name many more too but I'm guessing from your attitude this would be a waste of my time.

Mario Galaxy games were awesome. So was Mario Kart on the Wii. More of a proper game to me than the likes of COD or Battlefield pap.

Ouch.. and I own a Vive.

I am a massive Nintendo Fan Boy but lets be honest the Wii was not a proper "gaming" console, yes Mario Galaxy was awesome but come on the whole console was a gimmick

i do have high hopes for the switch tho

You are wasting your time, neither the Wii or Wii U were a triumph for gaming whichever way you look at it.

I'm sure there wouldn't be an issue porting Mario Galaxy, the JoyCons shouldn't have a problem emulating the Wiimotes. Although saying that in handheld mode you couldn't use them for motion control. Shouldn't cause Nintendo too big a headache.
