*** Nintendo Switch ***

Now confirmed that downloaded games cannot be on different consoles simultaneously :( So if your Switch brakes or you loose it you still have to go through Nintendo customer support to download the games to the new device. What a pain in the backside as I've been down this path before and it took 6 weeks to sort. What's the point of doing half a job Nintendo !?!?!
That's terrible, especially considering this is a handheld console so the risk of you losing it/it getting stolen are higher.

Look for Youtuber CrazyDopetastic he asked some questions at a Nintendo event. Some news on Gamespot. Can't remember the exact wording and cannot access from work. Think it was more like that it doesn't work right now, not that it would never work.

I can see why they've done it, it's pretty obvious why. However hopefully they'll sort it out so say if you sign in to your Nintendo account online you can change over your device registered to your account easily to avoid this causing delays/problems.

It's not an issue if they make the changing of registered hardware easy to manage.

Why can you see why they have done it?

No other device has such stupid account rules.

When I got my PS4 Pro I just signed in and downloaded all my stuff, same for when I switched phones or got a new iPad.

Nintendo need to get with the times.

Mr Generic Person has 3 kids, he buys them a Nintendo Switch each.

He wants to buy a VC game for them. He buys it on one. He now needs to buy it for the others as its 2 further copies of the game.

If Nintendo allowed multiple installs across different consoles they would lose money. Thats what makes sense to me.

Microsoft and Sony both allow the scenario you just described and they both seem to be fine by it.

Almost, you have a 'home' console which any digital content can be played on by any account. You can download the content on to other consoles but you have to be signed in with the account which purchased the content to use it. Of course, if your console fails, you can change your 'home' console.

Microsoft may have gone one better with their family sharing option but I've never looked in to it.

Nintendo's digital policy and the whole online side doesn't really concern me much at the moment. I generally don't buy Digital unless it's a good price.

What I really want to see is a new metroid game ala metroid on the gamecube. Still one of the best games ever.

It's been hinted at by Retro Studios twice now, and also the american Nintendo spokesperson (reggie?) also hinted at it.
Maybe something will be unveiled at E3 :)
