I just had a look at meta critic to see what rating Metroid Prime on the GC got and its pretty much the best rated game ever. 97% average for critics and 9.3 for users. No other game gets such universal praise from both critics and the average gamer. I must have played it through 3-4 times and its still a stunning game.

I very recently almost bought a Gamecube + the HDMI hack pretty much just to play this :o

It'll be on VC at some point no doubt. So I'll get it there :D Metroid on the move!
 
Grey here.

Still really unsure about the console, not sure if I'll cancel it. It'll basically be a Zelda playing device for a couple of months for me until other games come out. Bomberman is way too high in price for my liking.

I'm in the same boat here. Bomberman should be about £20 IMO. Once MK8 comes out it will be much better and then SM Odyssey later in the year but top games are looking a little thin on the ground.

ALMOST bought! Was very very tempted. If the Switch wasn't on the horizon I would have done it!

There is a website, a quick google will show you. You buy the GameCube then send it to them for modification. I think they offer a supply GC service as well but i cannot remember specifically.

Honestly, the slow trickle of games in the launch window suits me just fine. I want Zelda above all else and I'm confident it will keep me busy along with what I'm still playing on my PC/PS4. Mario Kart a month down the line is OK with me and Splatoon a bit after means that I'm not buying 3 games at launch and laying out £400+ in one go.

Hopefully Street Fighter is sensibly priced and I'd like Bomberman to drop to £20-25.

Sadly its not that simple, also it has been mentioned on other websites and podcasts I heard. Reasons why this made the news.

Yes, the games are tied your account but you can't just simply log into another system and download your games. You still need to unlink one original console first before you can download onto the new console. It doesn't auto unlink your account soon as you log into the new console. If you don't access to the original console anymore then how can you unlink your account? It still will requires a call to Nintendo CS for them to manually do it for you.
 
Looking forward to seeing what you all think on the 3rd. This is the only console launch I've missed over a number of years but I can't justify it with the launch games. I'm either going to bite when Mario Kart or Splatoon 2 hits or they offer some decent bundles with Mario at christmas.

Both but a Prime more so.

If you want a good return to old school check out AMR2 - its been recently released. Single handed by a guy across 10 years. It looks INCREDIBLE!

 
We found out something pretty interesting about Switch while messing around with the system this week. Although it apparently won’t be available at launch, Nintendo is planning a feature so that update data can be exchanged with local users. That means you won’t necessarily have to connect online to get an update – you can just obtain the data from a friend.

That's quite a cool feature! I doubt any of my friends will even get a switch, but it deffo sounds like a great feature for other people.
 
Also not sure if mentioned but FAST RMX is confirmed for day one launch along with Shovel Knight - both through the E-Shop.

Just saw a tidbit saying people have been VERY impressed at how well it runs!
