*** Nintendo Switch ***

Anyone going to a midnight launch?

If so, please can you post pics :D

I was tempted to go and collect Zelda from Smyths at midnight but, without the console, I think I can wait until tomorrow.

There's generally little fanfare involved with smaller shops outside of big cities. They usually consist of a few members of staff that want to get you in and out as quick as possible and 15, cold, tired gamer types queued up outside hoping not to get mugged by a chav on their way back to the car.

People already streaming Zelda I see on Twitch!
Would have to be mad to be watching that IMO. I actually never understood Twitch, not for new releases anyway. Why would I want to watch someone else play when I can play myself?

£25 for a USB C mains charger, must have got hte Apple pricing team on board. Sad thing is some people won't know they don't have to use the official one either and pay it.

I have been looking into extra chargers as i want a couple more so didnt want to pay the Nintendo price but at the end of it there isn't many that are cheaper and those that are have the cable sticking straight out so look a right mess plugged in the wall.

The wording thing is that nearly all USB C chargers are not powerful enough and lots are actually dangerous - Aukey being a very well reviewed brand on Amazon got a terrible review on a site with tests showing it could actually damage devices plugged into it :o

What chargers that can provide the right voltage/amps and have been tested to be safe do you recommend?

I wish someone would answer this.

There are younger videogame players in my family and I ask them the same question.

They shrug. I find that really a shame.

There's a whole generation of 'gamers' who choose to watch full play throughs online rather than buying and playing for themselves. I don't understand it either.

I can understand why. Some people just don't have the time or patience to sit through possibly hundreds of hours of gameplay. Especially now that we're absolutely spoilt for choice with triple A masterpieces getting slung at us left right and center :p

HAAAAAAAAAAAA

Best of luck to all who are awaiting their new toys.

I have no interest in the Switch, I purchased a Wii and lack of quality third party support was what got my goat (Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure is the exception).

Was always a chicken and egg thing, I hope for Nintendos sake, the same does not happen here but they did little to put the brakes on that train with the Wii.

Nintendo need to stop focusing on hardware for everyones sake.

I like to watch it mainly for pvp games to see if I can learn anything to get better, e.g. WoW arena or Smite. Sometimes programming streams on Twitch too. I wouldn't watch someone play Zelda on it.

You must live in some sort of alternate reality where the market is flooded with great games?

Well.. this year already we've got HZD. Zelda tomorrow. Mass effect at the end of march. Etc. This has been a brilliant time for gaming so far.

Edit. We've also got others to look forward to... ace combat 7 ;) ;)
