*** Nintendo Switch ***

Just ordered a switch got the deal that is on at the moment at Tesco (Console + 2 Games) for £240 with staff discount.

What issues with the hardware do I need to look out for and also any must have accessories? I am thinking about getting the Pro Controller are should I just give the Joy-cons a go first before buying it.

Glass screen protector, Hori portable stand and Pro controller are must-haves.

I said before £200 was the magical price for me and the Switch, lo and behold...mine is now ordered :) (with Mario Rabbids and Lego City essentially costing £20 each). I'll be looking to grab FastRMX, Zelda and Mario in fairly short order too!

Eatchipz got in faster than me and asked exactly what I was about to ask! Any of the glass screen protectors particularly good or bad? Also, is there a preferred memory card for expanding the storage, or not really necessary unless planning to buy e-titles?

OZRLY Glass Protector is good. It's what I have on mine (I think) very tough. No scratches at all. Initially it can bubble up after application but I find mine has totally smoothed out now.

Memory card, cheapest Class 10 you can find will do it.

Some games will required an SD card regardless of whether or not you get the physical or eshop version. They're cheap so I'd get one anyway and leave it in. :)

ORZLY is the only one I know of that fits properly. AmFilm is very popular in America but it doesn't fit the screen properly.

Any class 10 card is fine for the SD card as the speed is limited by the hardware. I get the digital versions of multiplayer titles and the on board storage is tiny so it's a necessity for me.

Orzly tempered glass protector. Most of us are using this one and it's a real quality product. I went for a this SD card https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B013UDL5HU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I've actually bought a lot more digital titles than I thought I would - certainly more than I ever have before with any other console. Playing on the go kind of makes you want these indie games and a lot of them are very good.

I got the official case but it is soft shell there are some hard ones out there if you want that. Orzly do a hard case which looks decent.

Pro controller. Up to you but it is a lovely thing.

In what way didn't you get on with it?
I found it really easy to apply using the hinge method.

First mistake I made was using their supplied dust sticker. This left a load of glue on my screen that I had to remove quite vigorously. Then the protector itself had a load of dust already on it. I'm not saying it's an inferior product at all, just that I managed to mess it up. I was very close the second time but had a persistent bubble I could not get rid of.

I’m not using any screen protector. Not too fussed if it gets some hairline scratches over it. Same with my phone. Never really saw the point :p

I don't use them on phones but on a device I wont be using the touch screen on I don't mind.
