Does making a "profit" include the sunk costs of R+D in developing the console? Or are you just talking about the cost to manufacture coming down over time?
I love Nintendo. But I think the time has come to focus on what they do best, and that's making games. The Wii U has sold 10 million consoles worldwide. That's half as many as the Gamecube which itself was considered a flop. I appreciate Nintendo have been massive innovators, but you have to consider the question - did Nintendo 'get lucky' with the original Wii?
