*** Nintendo Switch ***

Yeah not a fan of preordereing when it's a bit of an unknown :D

No worries! Partner wants to contribute towards it for the past fathers day. (I said I didn't want anything and we were away)

It's worth doing as you can cancel at anytime (even after delivery) and it saves you loads if you want games at release.

^I am pretty excited about it. Might not pick it up yet because of my backlog but all I've heard are amazing comments about it. Limbo also is fantastic.

Inside is truly fantastic. I never really got into Limbo as I tried it too late I think but at the time it helped pave the way for indie games today I'd say. Certainly one of the early hits of that digital scene.

Think I've now put myself off ordering Mario Tennis as the single player doesn't sound deep enough, nor does the game as a whole really. May just grab some downloadable titles to keep my system in use until the next big one!

Any must haves or good deals in the current sales?

Would grab hollow knight but my issue with metroid fan is style games is that if i stop playing for a day or 2, I completely lose my way and forget where I was heading etc

Or as a main big game purchase I'm slightly tempted by Hyrule Heroes but I haven't played a game of that style before, or perhaps Donkey kong

Hollow Knight is so good but it is a huge game and I've found myself lost a lot of the time. I'm 20 hours in and I am still opening up new areas crawling along. Map markers are plentiful but you do have to buy them. Dropping it for a couple of days won't be a problem as the maps are quite well done when you get used to them. It does a better job than something like Axiom Verge but it is significantly more difficult. It's the best Metroidvania on the Switch by far. £11 is a steal.

Mario Tennis is apparently getting a 'day 1 patch' to improve online performance. I didn't really have many issues with the demo though. 2 matches out of 25-30 odd had noticeable delay, 1 of those was unplayable. I won't be getting it at release because I bought Hollow Knight which I haven't started yet because I'm addicted to Splatoon again.

I think I'll pick up the Mario+Rabbids DK expansion next week before Mario Tennis as I'm getting an itch to play a strategy game.

I haven't played Inside so I'll definitely be getting that at some point too.

That all sounds pretty good. Axiom was way too vague on direction. I don't mind that but I ultimately lost interest

Anyone else getting errors when trying to browse the store? Trying to download Fortnite for the boy but it's coming up unable to communicate with the server.

What's you're Splatoon 2 rank? We should play together some day. I'm floating at the top of S+ (8-10) but can't quite nudge it into the X rank as I keep changing weapons and load outs and trying to complete equipment.

Mario+Rabbids is an awesome game.

Played and finished the Toad demo. Only 3 short levels to try. I like it. Nice level of polish and some of the tasks had me thinking a bit. Really feel that type of game should be a bit cheaper, but I get it. I'll keep my eye on it come release. It's £35 which is better than them trying to get full whack for it but it feels a lot like many mobile games we have seen. Monument valley vibes right off the bat

I'm still at S+ 2-5 but only A+ in Clam as I haven't played the mode much since it was added.

I really need to use more weapons as I tend to stick to the same few, and same couple of builds too. I'll probably grind ranked this weekend and level up some more gear in the process.

Rabbids I wish I still had it as the DK DLC looks great. Might pick it up again at some point. Traded it in after I completed it.

The DK expansion can be purchased as standalone. I also sold my Mario+Rabbids so I hope I'm right!

I'm loving Hollow Knight (20 hours so far) but it gives you near-zero guidance on where to go or what to do.

For me it's right up there with the best 2D platformers I've played in ~30 years of gaming but it's not a particularly friendly title either in terms of difficulty or hand-holding you about where to go next.

No you're right I'm sure I read that somewhere too! Forgot about that and remembered when I woke up this morning.

My memory is awful so I have done a lot of back tracking to areas I know I couldn't access after I have got a new ability only to go "yeah, I remember this, I still can't get past it".

Easily one of the best games I have played in the past 10 years though. I would happily pay £30 for it knowing what I know now. £11 is ridiculous value. Another great example of the Switches pick up and play suiting a game perfectly. Only criticism is that certain abilities are quite off the beaten track so you can come close to them and miss them if you aren't careful. I guess that is part of the complications of having such a huge map that is very intricate in places.
