That's a great price!

Amazon early pre-order is still the best price, as always:

Not bad. Do they take payment now or on dispatch? Must admit I have never had one good pre-order experiance with Amazon :( never had an item on release day, though I've only used them a limited amount of times for that reason

I never get it on release day but I'm not bothered about getting games on release. The same week is fine for me as I have a busy life.

They charge on dispatch.

On the one occasion I wanted a game early I just ordered from a store in Italy as they don't seem to care about release dates and posted the game over a week early.

I'd say I'm the same but I get jealous come release day if I don't have my copy ;)
Obviously the Amazon price now is much higher but you're right in that preordereing early is a great benefit. Still can't tell if I want this one or Not, and am worried the demo will ruin the new game feel :D

Thanks for the info!

I haven't played the latest demo for the same reason as you.

I played the older one, as it's not part of the main game, and that sold it for me.

Yeah it's nice to have such a generous demo but in turn I like to experiance the start of the game once it's actually out, tough to please you see :D

Can't argue with the visuals though, they are damn unique.

Not sure where to order Pokemon from, I plan on getting the controller so it will not fit through the letter box so Amazon is out.

Might wait for Argos to stick it up for click and collect.

I think I've reached the final boss on Hollow Knight, got about 70% complete and I think I will just go ahead and finish the game rather than hunt for more completion stuff. Fabulous game and more than got my money's worth out of it, just don't feel a real incentive to go for 100% and kind of want to move on after some 30 odd hours :)

Still on the fence about many games, Donkey Kong keeps catching my attention having never played it on Wii U the value is there, any thoughts on that one?

Hollow knight is like a lot of games where you complete the game and thats it. You can then just use your pre-end save to keep going as if you had never completed it. There are various DLCs available for it (all included free).

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is a brilliant game. I think I have been spoiled by Hollow Knight in value for money but DK:TF is a fantastic game and I periodically go back to complete a bit more of it and replay levels. Just a beautiful, engaging and fun game. Some of it is quite tricky but I think people overstate the difficulty. The only time it gets hard is a couple of bosses and if you want to get all the collectables.

I went in thinking DK would be hard - I've been reading about it literally for years - but actually now that I am used to it it really isn't as hard as I was expecting. Something like Celeste or even the difficult platforming parts in Hollow Knight are much harder. The bosses can seem tough but they just repeat patterns and you learn it all fairly quickly. The game is wonderful though and some of the levels, sound and visuals are just inspired - there is one level particularly which you will just think 'Lion King'. Makes me smile just thinking about the game. It is a ton of fun if you like platformers. Same as fez above I like to go back and play a couple of levels when I am in the mood. There are lots of things to collect and the time trials are pretty fun too I think.

I tend to trade in games when I am done but this one is a keeper.

Also - 46 hours in to Hollow Knight. I am in no rush to finish it. Still finding new things :)

I'll probably go ahead and order Donkey Kong today then. That sounds great. I too can't see it being as challenging as reviews seem to state. I do like a fair challenge and that's part of the appeal imo, I loved the balance in hollow knight for example :)

Hi there, need some help as I'm not really up on Switch being mainly a PC gamer. My wife loved Zelda but has now completed it, with wedding anniversary coming up any suggestions? I would like something 2 player, with some action and puzzles to solve...

I do wonder what games people are playing if they think DK:TF is hard. I think I perhaps have a reasonably high threshold for being bang average at games but sticking at them and beating them eventually. Hollow knight had a few bosses that took a lot of goes, Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne were quite tricky in places but not too bad and Celeste was hard at times but OK.

I think the biggest part of making games fair is making sure that you are always responsible for your deaths/failure. All four of the games I have mentioned definitely follow that 99% of the time.
