I'm a bit torn on Dead Cells. Its a brilliant game; the combat is spot on and the level composition and movement is fantastic. When you are in the zone you feel untouchable as you glide around the levels. I just get really frustrated when I have got to a certain point a few times after nearly an hour of playing with brilliant gear and suddenly you fight a boss and... DEAD.

I know you supposedly get more powerful each time you play through but its not actually that likely that you will end up with a good set of gear that is vital for the harder areas/bosses. When you go into those fights with sub-par equipment the fight is 10x harder.

Welcome to the reason I hate rogue like games. Random is not fun.

My lifestyle doesn't really fit around a game like that anymore, unfortunately (or fortunately!). The beauty of the Switch is that I can make it fit because I can take it with me. I played for 70+ hours Hollow Knight mostly in the car on journeys and at lunch times. In the evenings it's just short sessions as I only get an hour or two because we like to watch TV in the evenings after eating. Weekends I am mostly out and about - with my Switch in tow. Oh well not complaining :)

Yeah I'm the same, it's not fitting well with my style either and has taken me months including a one month gap where I just ran out of steam with it. Almost didn't go back but glad I did.

It would be much better on switch imo, like Zelda. I sunk over 100 hours in to that without really noticing the time fly by

I guess there isn't a good way around this issue. If you make the player too powerful then the earlier levels are just pointless and boring. I just wish it wasn't so punishing at times.

Broke my left Joy-Con.

Ordered a new screwdriver set because I don't have a tri-wing screwdriver. It arrived yeasterday. Really surprised how complicated the Joy-Cons are inside. Multi-layered, with quite a few ribbon cables compared to PS4/Xbox One controllers. Turns out the analogue stick is knackered. £6.99 for an aftermarket one off eBay. Kinda wish I hadn't bothered now to be honest; should have just ordered a refurbished Joy Con for ~£35.

Monday should be a fun day; putting it all back together.

My left stick wasn't right. Used to wander a lot. Cleaning helps but it never totally went away. I thought of taking it apart but thought what the hell and ordered the red Mario joy-cons from Amazon instead. They are expensive but beautiful!

Doom Eternal coming to Switch. Great news.

I swapped mine out earlier this week, it’s not too bad to be fair. Did the sponge fix too.

Taking the joycons apart is pretty simple. I did the conductive foam fix on one and it took about 15 minutes total.

Ok... I did it... finally... I completed Zelda Breath of the Wild.
And now Im very sad.... :(
But I know there is so much more to do, like complete all the shrines, recover all the memories etc.

And the DLCs I guess? Are they worth it?

But man... what a game.... really what an epic game.

I think one of the key mistakes I made in this game, is thinking it has to be completed linearly.
Only half way through this game did my mindset and approach begin go change.

Is it me or was the ending a bit... meh? I mean nothing really touches Link the Past in terms of endings :)

I think terrible is too strong and harsh a word. There is a fundamental story behind the game but (at least for me) what differentiates it is that it has taken a different approach to previous incarnations of Zelda games and is just so open ended that the story line seems disjointed.

Previously - Link wake up.... go to dungeon A, get item A, go to dungeon B, use item A to help you get item B in dungeon B, rinse repeat, (albeit in more complex fashion in the latter Zelda games).
Now - Link wake up.... and off you go.

The ironic thing is, now that I have completed it.... Im actually drawn to playing it more....

I mean what is there to achieve after you have defeated Gannon? I suppose all the sidequests, the house, Tarrey town, the shrines etc?

Is the DLC worth it?

Once I finished the main quest I had a break then returned and wrapped up all the shrines! Was great fun exploring and found so many amazing locations I would have missed if I followed a map for them etc. I can't speak for the dlc really but from hearsay it sounds like more of a challenge mode rather that the extra quest we may have hoped for :(

DLC was worth it for the Master Trials alone IMO. Although granted, it should have been in the game from the get go.

Majora's mask did character interaction and world building brilliantly with a better story than botw. Link's awakening had a better story too.
