*** Nintendo Switch ***

You can do it manually via the + button though mine is set to auto as well. Maybe you need to launch the game not sure how it works.

So I did a manual back up of Zelda in the first instance, I then ran Zelda and made another save, went to settings and it showed the cloud save as at 15:53 and the system at 15:56, once I closed Zelda it then started uploading the most recent backup to the cloud.

For Stardew Valley I didn't force a manual sync, I opened the game, slept in the bed to save and exited the game, it's now backing up as we speak.

I thought it might back up all the old stuff automatically when idle but nothing yet, maybe it will when docked.

Knowing Nintendo they'll probably only do it when you play and save something from now on to reduce their cloud storage usage.

They appear to use the same system as their rubbish game update policy. Only your recently played games (6-8? I can't remember) get updated automatically, the rest will update when you start them. This is infuriating if you just fancy a quick game of something online and you have to wait for a patch to install.

With paid online I would expect all of my games to update and backup saves, not just a few.

I'll probably do that :) didn't realise the service had a trial
Tbh I got that info from resetera so I dont know if it's totally correct. They are moaning about it quite a lot though. So I launched the game and obviously couldn't connect yet but I took a screenshot of the menu because well Dark Souls on my Switch :)

Is anyone not using their Splatoon 2 codes given away with a year's membership to the Nintendo Online service?

I'm on the 7 day trial at the moment. I'm not giving nintendo a penny more than I have to for their online service.

I'd be up for joining a family plan if anyone's arranging one. Do we think Nintendo may nip this in the bud at some point? From what I can tell, they haven't strictly said it's just for family use and that this isn't the way it's to be used. Can't see how they could police it anyway?
