*** Nintendo Switch ***

As someone who buys digitally most of the time, they have come in very handy. Recently, they had a coin back deal on renewing online membership. I jumped at it, partly because my parner gifted me £15 Nintendo Gift Card, so I only paid about £45 to renew my family + plan another year. Received 1200 coins in return and used that towards buying Tetris Effect Connected.

Shame was a cool system that I got some benefit from and it incentivises you to buy more digitally. I’m sure they know this and we’ll see something similar on the S2. I imagine most are just treading water now anyway waiting for the new console.

Yeah I'm not going to buy anymore games until I know when the Switch 2 is coming out and what the launch titles are going to be.

Pokémon A-Z looks like a mobile game from 10 years ago

It must surely be the highest margin game series of all time, it must cost absolute pennies to develop this game and then it sells many millions

I'm not going to buy any games until I know more about the 2. I can always buy them in the future and I'd like to save some money to get the launch titles on the 2.

The real time battling seems to be the biggest change Vs previous versions. Not sure how I feel about it tbh. It does make it similar to Unite if I'm not mistaken... Can't say I played much of it to remember exactly.

One thing's for sure, Nintendo are steadily embracing the mobile market alongside the Switch. Let's hope that doesn't lead to the Switch turning into a glorified tablet as all games go cross platform.

Are any of the third party switch controllers any good?

I have a couple of nintendo pro controllers and they are solid, but looking around it seems the "PDP" branded ones are licenced by Nintendo, any good? Any other brands worth looking at?

Or it is best just to not try and save £15 and just get the proper nintendo one?

I bought some 8bitdo ones years ago without any idea of the brand and they've lasted really well for the money I paid at the time.

The other way of looking at that is that the Switch and the existing massive user base isn't being abandoned overnight in favour of a console that clearly won't sell 100 million units in the first year :p

The last hurrah before Switch 2. More refreshes of old games? Metroid Prime 2 and 3 were rumoured. Then there's always a Zelda port.

Impressively crap outside of the MP4 info. Theres something deeply depressing about the fact that seemingly 80% of games on the Switch given screentime on directs are just remasters/remakes.

Well they’re remastering an entire console next week, so fill your boots then too :D
