*** Nintendo Switch ***

Well my list of games is slightly expanded...

Zelda
Mario Odyssey
Mario Rabids
Mario kart 8
Captain Toad Treasure tracker
Starlink and full DLC
Diablo 3
Xenoblade 2
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Octopath Traveller
Capcom beat em up collection
Iconoclasts
Lego Ninjago (for my son and missus, honest!)

Hmmmm, so what next... (well probably a break for now to actually play some!)

Big Nintendo releases hold their value for pretty much the whole lifecycle of the console. Have done for the past few generations.

On the upside, it means used values hold strong.

Best time to buy is usually when eBay do 10% or 15% off.

Every game I want is £40+
I'm so used to the price of PC games that this is a bit of a shock.

On the look out for MK8 and BOTW and Mario Odyssey

In a rare move for Nintendo a lot of their first party games have been on sale on the eShop. Don't forget that unlike PC games you can buy and sell games second hand for no net cost at all.

I haven't seen MK or BOTW on sale yet but have only had the Switch since Xmas.

I have added them to my Watch List so I am assuming I'll get an alert if they go on sale?

Do you happen to know the best price they have been on the eShop?

BotW was 25% off the last time it was on sale while Mario & Rabbids was 50% off. The sales typically only last for a week or two but they fairly regular with a varying selection of games.

Mario Kart is currently on sale for £32.13 but only in Japan (https://eshop-prices.com/games/164-mario-kart-8-deluxe?currency=GBP). You can easily switch your region if you have a payment method that works on the Japanese eShop, but I usually get all my games from the South African eShop for a good 10-20% discount off even on games that aren't on sale compared to the UK eShop.

On the Japanese eShop you get a watch list sale alert via email but annoyingly in the UK you don't.

Mario vs Rabbids isn’t 1st party, it’s Ubisoft. (Very good game mind)

Most 1st party games can be had cheaper in physical format, just have to keep an eye on Amazon, Argos, Very etc.

One I wished I'd picked up in the sale is that yoku's island express. I didn't know what it was so ignored it, then I saw it mentioned in Arlos recent video and realised it looks awesome. Next time though :) - i've got enough to play for now!

I told you to get it!

Guacamelee is currently on sale under £8, get it!

Picked up Enter the Gungeon for the Switch yesterday, loving it at the moment and it has made me stop playing D3. The game is quite difficult but it is rewarding if you stick with it

Think I'll try a new character in smash or focus on unlocking them all. I felt quite comfortable with young link but my rating has gone to poo now, couple of losses and silly mistakes has tanked my rating for him to like 50,000 :D good stuff

Not sure who to try, bit of a comfort zone thing going on

Try Captain Falcon.

Yes I never played with him either before but I gave it a go the other day against Kreee online and he's excellent! Very fast across the map, strange moves differently from others making him hard to hit and his attacks are very powerful.

I will, best unlock him first :D thanks for the tip.

Switch arrived today. I now have the stressful challenge of trying to get a screen protector on it as close to perfect as I can .Took me 6 protectors last time .

I ****** up over xmas with our Switch.

I was playing Mario Kart 8 with my GF a few days back. I was sadly in one of those games where the boxes just screw you over every time. I was first place through all the laps, finish line was in sight when I got red shelled, then again, then again, then hit by a rocket, ended up coming last. She was laughing at me having beaten me and I got annoyed, threw the controller down like a child, which then bounced off the rug into her glass of Baileys :(

Luckily it still works but it's immensely sticky, half the buttons are soft push now rather than clicky and one of the buttons above the trigger doesn't work anymore, smells nice though!

Just waiting for my tri-wing 1.5mm screw driver to arrive to see what I can take apart and repair :D

What are you looking for in a character? If you're after the best character in the game then only Chrom is better than young link as you are already playing as one of the best.

I've just hit 2.8 million GPS with Simon, but it's weird as each day it gets easier to have more points despite me not improving as the system is broken.

The number represents how many people you are currently better than, and the new players constantly trying out online play makes it easier to have a higher score each day.
