Questions...

I've not tried using a different store so I would love to know more about this myself.

Get a Pro Controller, it's 100% worth it.

In terms of an SD card, I haven't bothered with one yet as I'm only playing physical copies of Zelda and MK8.
It's probably worth checking out the average size of the games you're interested in first and then decide from there.

For a screen protector I highly recommend the Orzly, it's great quality and probably the easiest screen protector I've ever applied.

Get the Pro controller it is so good. And as above you'll need the rumble feedback and gyro. It's my favourite current controller by far.

I've bought off the US store with no issues. It's a bit of a faf if your card won't work but it is doable.

I'm on a 128GB SD card and I have a ton of space left despite buying a lot of digital content. Indie stuff is generally small though if you do decide to start buying games like Zelda digitally then you might fill that up fast. All my AAA purchases have been physical so far.

As above - Orzly tempered screen protector.

Does downloadable games get saved on the sd card?

Yes.

SD Card takes priority but I think it's been confirmed that internal storage provides quicker load times, so if there is a game where you want that, then remove the SD card, download the game and then put the card back in.

Going to pick my switch up tomorrow, £319 with Fifa 18 at Argos.

Couple of quick questions...

As I'm told you can basically use any regions store, is there anything to stop me say, buy BOTW on the yank store and theoretically pay less?

I plan to get a Magic-NS, use either my wii U pro controller or DS4, anyone had any issues with it? The price of the pro controller is shocking.

Storage wise, what are you guys finding is the ample size SD card?

Anything else I should invest in besides the usual screen protector, carry case etc...?

Cheers :D

I personally didn't get a Pro as I prefer the Joycons - maybe it is my many years with mouse and keyboard, but I like my hands free and separated with controls, so a Con in each hand is preferable to two handed grip on a control. If you do prefer the two handed grip though, definitely get a Pro - I couldn't begin to imagine how uncomfortable holding the Joycons in that DIY grip thing would be.

Cheers guys!

Got it picked up, lighter then I thought it would be!

Game related question now, anyone else got Fifa 18? The shooting feels, well, off, by quite a lot. I can put all the power in the world into a shot and it just trickles along the floor, only twice out of around 30 shots have I gotten the ball above say, knee height? And those two times it ballooned into the stands. Wondering if anyone else gets the same issue and how it was sorted? I've imported my settings from MyEA, everything looks as it should just doesn't feel as it should.

For Splatoon the split joycons are much better than the Pro pad. You can do 180 turns much easier and you can press up on the dpad while still holding forwards on the left joy stick for example.

For any 2D game (and Mario Kart) the pro pad is better, but for Splatoon and Zelda the split joycons are a big improvement.

It's getting difficult to avoid Odyssey spoilers!

Stop browsing game forums and websites? I've still read and seen nothing since the initial reveal.

It's youtube, mainly. I have it open all the time at work. And the videos keep popping up as "recommended" ones. Keep clicking "not interested" in this to get rid of them. But some of the pesky ones keep coming up.

Oh btw, lvl 15 on SP now :) (after 100% on 14 :D)

Anyone have issues with their joycons having a bit of wiggle to them when attached to the system?
From reading online it seems that Nintendo have indicated this is a 'feature' to reduce the amount of force is applied to the system if its dropped.
My right joycon also has a slight creak sound sometimes when the 'wiggle' happens.

Only had the system since last week and not sure what to do.
If it's something that will happen on every system then I might as well just hold on to it.
My thinking is that I will play through Zelda to completion and decide how much it bugs me whilst playing and then I may think about calling Nintendo about it...

Was easy enough, set up another profile on your switch, set region to USA, link nintendo account to it - also set as USA, set ZIP code to somewhere in Oregon (no sales tax), then grab some pre-paid cards, got $70 worth for a little over £50 :)

Ah, I only ever look at my subscriptions on YouTube, which are all science, math and space related :p

Well done on Snake Pass, that's good going. You'll have beaten me if you 100% the game without any help.

Every single system either has, or will have through wear, joycons that move slightly. It's only an issue if it's excessive or gets worse.

My left joy-con moves a tiny bit, about half a millimeter, but barely any movement on the right one (can sort of feel it moving when testing, but can't really see the movement).

Yeah Youtube can be a pain for thumbnail spoilers on the recommended feed, fortunately I haven't been using Youtube that much recently.
I watched the E3 trailer and some of the Treehouse footage for Odyssey but have seen nothing since.

In general I completely avoid pre-release media for games these days, except for things like arcade and fighting games. I've gone dark on Evil Within 2 and Xenoblade 2 too.

Apparently Edge Magazine have given Mario a 10/10!

The print has been delayed to time in with embargo but copies of the review have been seen out and about or released early in some way.

Finally preordering it

Ive been having an issue with the screen on my Switch, but I'm not really sure what the problem is. I have a small purple cloud or smudge on the screen, its not super noticable unless the screen is displaying black/dark colours, and is pretty much not visible on white/brighter screens. Its also less visable with the backlight turned down and not visable at all when the screen is in sleep mode. It doesnt mess with image details, everything is still displaying underneath the disoloured patches.

I havent really been able to find anyone else with the same issue. I've taken care of thing like a porcelain newborn, so it hasnt been dropped or hit off anything. I'm reluctant to send it off for repairs unless I really have to, given Nintendos uncertainy on keeping your save data safe, but it is starting to bug me.

Anyone have any experience with the 3rd party "docks" available from the auction sites? Been looking at one for £29.99 and seriously thinking about picking one up for that kind of money.

AFAIK they are just a pretty basic Android type,TV pass-through device?
