*** Nintendo Switch ***

My kids want to get me mario for my birthday which is lovely but means waiting until Dec 2nd :(

Still at the rate I play zelda it will probably take me until then to finish it

Finished Mario Rabbids, brilliant game :) Going back through doing the challenges now (and the hidden areas).

If you don't have it already I would really recommend picking it up at some point. Gameplay just gets better as you go through, differentiates itself from the X-com mothership by being more about movement than weapons. Really satisfying setting up multiple combined moves that wipe out whole swathes of enemies.

Rabbid Luigi is a little OP, but balancing is otherwise pretty spot on.

I've owned it since release but never even booted it up. I just get drawn to Splatoon whenever I turn on my Switch.

I tried the free weekend and it was pretty good but I just have zero interest in playing internet multiplayer games on my Switch. It's a little sanctuary of unspoiled gaming goodness :)

Arms is the only purchase so far I kinda regret....for that reason. The SP isn't engaging enough and I don't want to deal with the MP side.

Should have Mario rabbits arriving today. I have heard so many good things about it that I decided to give it a go. Mario is only a few weeks away but this should tide me over.

Anyone recommend any child friendly games? 4 year old is desperate to play with me but FIFA and botw are a bit out of his range.

If it helps he quite happily played Mario 3d world on the Wii u with me to completion.

Mario kart 8 for sure! Even has some additional options for helping kids stay on track

I regret getting ARMS too. The multiplayer mechanics are too simple and only your super really matters.

I am glad I held off on this. I was very very tempted. Tried the testpunch and whilst I enjoyed it. After a week I didn't feel the yearn to play it more. That said it all for me!

Overcooked? May not be conducive to a harmonious family life though :P

I really enjoyed it too, instantly did the ultimate challenge in the 4th world 1st time following completion. I never used Rabbid Luigi, Rabbid Mario was my weapon of mass destruction: bomb blast dash, draw them in, and vampire hammer to finish them off. Used Rabbid Mario, Luigi, and Mario for everything more or less since they have the hero sight/steely stare combo to complement the wrecking ball of Rabbid Mario. I was super addicted to it while on holiday. Still need to go and find the other ultimate challenges and a couple of chests but I've switched my addiction to Splatoon 2 now for the moment. Had Zelda on Wii U so struggling to get back into that on Switch now as well.

Snipperclips and/or Mario Rabbids?

My 4 and 5 year olds love Mario Kart 8, and as mentioned above the assisted steering works a treat.

Cheers guys, grabbed MK8 - forgot about this one, have it on the Wii U but iirc it lacked the kids assists so he got frustrated with controlling it, plus we didn't have any of the DLC.

Snipper clips looks pretty good too, will certainly look into this as well :)

Rabbids I will leave until its a bit cheaper ~xmas time, as I'll be getting Mario Odyssey as my next purchase, at £50 a game I can't afford to go too nuts with it :p

Anyone get a bit bored of sonic towards the end of the game. The levels just start getting too complex and the mechanics annoying. I've run out of time a number of goes and some of the bosses/mechanics are really frustrating. Getting game over puts you back so far sometimes I lose the will to play any more.

i got sick on the level where you start on the pane. The amount of times I accidentally landed from a jump into a dash and dies almost saw my switch launched across the room was nuts

I've got a few stages further but I am tearing my hair out on the levels where it takes you in circles and everything looks very similar or there are loads of instant death things. I don't care about getting all the coins or not losing them, I care about enjoying the game and the latter part of is is getting boring.
