*** Nintendo Switch ***

Anyone on the fence over Owlboy should seriously consider it as it's great. Really nice story with beautiful art style and soundtrack. It's kind of a metroidvania puzzle platformer with a cool flying mechanic where you pick up your allies who all have different weapon types. Not completed it yet but I've loved everything about it so far.
Is this on the sale buddy?

For physical releases you have a point. I've only bought Bayonetta so far this is year and I skipped Kirby after a disappointing demo. But the eShop offerings have been fantastic. Long play MP games like Splatoon 2 and MK8 take up most of my free time and then games like shovel knight and celeste take up the time when I'm on the move. I still have a PS4 and an XB1 which I still use and enjoy. Switch has been and is my main place to play though for the past year.

I am considering Splatoon. Never really been into COD etc. though so unsure if my time isn't better placed in single player games on other consoles.

Splatoon has occasional testfires/splats where you can try it out. Worth a go if you're in doubt.

Speaking from my little experience with it. Its a fun third person team shooter which is great for bursts of adrenaline. Matches max out at 3mins (normally) and you're constantly on this "lets go lets go" kind of motivation of rushing in and trying to work as a team. its a simple concept with a surprising amount of complexity if you really want to get into it. Overall just brilliant fun.

Splatoon is a very unique multiplayer shooter. It doesn't play like any other game I know of as capturing territory and player movement are more important than kills in every game mode.

So seen as it’s my birthday today what better excuse to treat myself to a switch :D the misses didn’t object either! I just got Mario Kart for now and I can safely say I’ve not had this much fun on a game for years! (Having had/have top pc, PS4 pro & Xbox one x) it brings me back to my childhood days when Nintendo was top dog, I’ve just bought Mario odyssey off eBay and will get Zelda soon I can’t wait :D

Splatoon is great fun and I would recommend it to anyone. I play it very little in the grand scheme of things but even then, playing online is great fun. You don't have to be really good to enjoy it.

It's such a great system, I still have a PS4 and Xbox but they don't hardly get used compared to my Switch, the portability factor makes such a difference as it's so immediate.

I had Mario Kart on the Wii U but don't regret buying it for the Switch as such a great game.

I hope you enjoy Mario Odyssey, I liked it but I don't think it was the game-changer some made it out to be, just a solid 3D Mario for me. Personally I think Mario 3D World on the Wii U is the better game, doubt many would agree as more linear but the style, music, clever levels and multiplayer put it in front. I really hope they release it for Switch (maybe at a cheaper price point) so more people can experience it.

I'm still addicted to Zelda, is possibly my best game ever, I'm at 135 hours and still have so much to do but I just love being in that world, I just wish Nintendo would make more DLC or an expansion.

I missed the test fire events, would really like to try it out as I'm done with competitive multiplayer shooters, I played Counter-Strike and the like back in the day but they just don't do it for me now, and if I do try playing them I tend to get mullered in the first few seconds by much better players.

I don't have the time to sink into a regular online FPS to get good so maybe something like Splatoon would fit the bill, I always liked playing Team Fortress as a support class like medic or engineer, I know they don't have roles like that in Splatoon but can you take a support-like play style hanging back and doing stuff that helps the team?

I stumbled upon a lets play of Zelda and it made me want to replay it. Its just magical. I didn't buy the DLC as I felt it wasn't worth it at the time. Not sure if I'm right or wrong on that one now.

I also have a very strong itch to replay Mario Odyssey.

XC2 DLC has been hyped up to be something huge too; if it is, I will not hesitate in re-entering that universe as I LOVED it. However I think it will be very mediocre DLC>

I would love them to release PUBG on the Switch, especially as its just come out on mobile platforms and plays great. I think a Switch version could be really good.

Axiom Verge is great so far. Always takes me a bit of adjustment time to get into the flow of a 'metroidvania' but it's fallen into place nicely. Found a fair few weapons but they all feels a bit bland, they have certain uses for getting to new areas etc
