*** Nintendo Switch ***

As far as I know, you can't share a game world to any useful degree but you could share a cartridge. Each console would have its own install and associated account/island but you wouldn't be able to have both of them playing at the same time as it would require the cartridge to be able to start. So basically, no, you will have arguments.

You can with a digital copy.

There are a few choices with Animal Crossing and multiple players. But, to be honest, it's not very well set up (in my opinion) for multiplay.

If you buy a single cartridge, then you'll be able to use it on both devices separately (obviously not at the same time!). Each device will have what basically amounts to a separate game, with it's own island. If you set up a second account on each device for the other daughter, they would be able to use that account to visit the island of the owner of that Switch. These second accounts would also enable them to both play on one device in single screen co-op. But the second player is really limited. All they can really do is pick stuff up and shake trees, and if they leave the screen the main player is on, they will just get teleported back.

If you buy two cartridges, then they will both be able to play it at the same time as each other. They will also be able to visit each others islands in a more independent way - although from what I understand it's still pretty limited. They aren't tethered to the owner any more, but they still can't build anything, it's more of a visit and guided tour deal.

The one bit I don't know is this: To play the multiplayer across two devices, do they need to have the Nintendo online account subscription, even if it's over a LAN? I think maybe they do - but not sure.
EDIT: Just done a quick google, and I think I'm wrong. Nintendo online isn't needed if they're on the same wifi.

Well done, some of the collectibles required to get 100% are challenging!

The game really shines there though, it’s a bit easy to just complete every level and I was disappointed until I started going for the collectibles.

Did you go past 100 percent? I can't imagine some of the levels in Hard Mode

Wow, first time this Switch thread has been off the first page of this sub. PS5 and XSX must be in a lot of hands!

Just a heads up. Black friday sales on switch e-shop have some decent deals and 2K games have borderlands collection, X2 Collection and Bioshock collection for £16 each on their website (not e-shop).

I've barely touched my Switch in the last month or so. PS4/5 getting most of my time.

Thought that might be the case. Doesn't help that the Switch has been pretty crap for new games for a while now. Haven't bought many games for the Switch for a while. Got Mario 3D collection and what remains of edith finch and before that it has been months since my last purchase.

Game pass like the switch for me. When I get the chance to play is always a game pass game.

Either a single player game to complete it before it leaves game pass, or one of the many multiplayer / coop games that all my mates also have thanks to game pass.

I still have a stupidly large backlog of games on the switch, and I still play an hour of smash each week.

Hoping the original Ori goes on sale. Can grab it on Steam for under £4 or take my first GamePass trial for £1

Is it just me or the switch never really goes down in price, sure you get the odd £20/30 quid off one during the black Friday deals but even used (at used game/hardware shops) they're asking near enough or on par with new prices.. What's that all about lol

One word.......Nintendo.

They hold their value very well.

Just picked up one of these for the wee mans Christmas, what needs charged? Is it the screen part and the you cons? Just asking as I'll be setting it up when I get home from my trip and noticed you can buy various venom charging stations for parts

1) Nintendo don’t really do discounts.
2) Its basically been running on minimal inventory or sold out since summer last year. They completely sold out last Xmas by mid December and were not restocked until well into the new year.
3) They don’t need to discount it, it’s in huge demand at the moment like everything else. They sold 15 million in the first 8 months of the year and 63 million since launch in 2017.

It’s outsold the Xbox 1 by 10 million units which launched in 2013! :p

It’s a smart tactic. Nintendo games are the only ones I buy at launch as they never reduce in price and always retain their resale value.

Hey all, hope you're doing well?

Bought myself a Switch on Monday in the £230 offer and trying to figure out options for audio when it's docked, as I have it plugged into my monitor on my desk. I've got a Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus and my desktop goes into that via optical, then I use headphones from there. Switch doesn't seem to like the USB (docked or via a full size to C converter). I've found out I can change the audio class between 1 and 2, but no dice.

My monitor has 3.5mm out, but that wont make any difference, as nowhere for it to go or wouldn't be able to control the volumne if I plugged headphones/speakers straight into it. I can get a USB bluetooth module for the DAC, but don't know if that's worth it or would work. Only other option I can think of is a HDMI to optical extractor/converter.

Looked a lot on Reddit and not really much info on there other than a list of DACs that work. I presume this one just simply doesn't, but no idea if I have to change any settings or whatever. Works fine with my Pixel 3 via the USB-C converter.

Cheers, Bryn

You'll get some offers on the eShop though. Look at Links Awakening, down to £33

Absolutely loving Sniper Elite 4, it is all I have done for the last 2 weekends, so much so I'm in the doghouse with my wife. The "want to get this out of the way for Xmas" excuse isn't cutting it
