... Oh dear what have I done :D

Actually lets be honest. Everyone knew what would happen here. It's amusing all the same. Had to do it.

Same thoughts as Firestar_3x really, I have no doubt that you can surprise a lot of people in your pocket rocket.

But you should know by now what to expect from these threads.

Cheated a bit and got the jump off the first roundabout. He was definitely catching me up, but not as fast as you'd think, and not in time before we had to break for the next roundabout. I'd say this was almost half a mile in between roundabouts. Same story again on the next section of road.

From a rolling start I would expect a GTR to be around 150mph in 1/2 mile.

On my way to the local Nissan dealership yesterday, I left an GTR for dead on the dual carriageway, who caught me up and when he pulled into Nissan....it turned out to be only a test drive who obviously wasn't out hooning it...does that count? :D

Maybe so but he had to brake to 0 mph for the roundabout and both of us weren't braking hard.

I saw one at Santa pod, but can't remember the time. It was quicker than I expected it to be and I saw a GTR ruin over 40 cars at Silverstone at the jap fest too.

From wiki and other sources

Car and Driver achieved a standing quarter-mile time of 11.5 s at 200 km/h (120 mph).

The new record to beat is now set at 10.53-seconds. The bad news is that after thirty 10-second passes and over 100 launches, the R35’s transmission has finally packed it in.

Pretty close. In non r-mode, and full auto in comfort mode, off a tight roundabout with VDC on, up a pretty healthy gradient, it'll be 142 at 4/10s of a mile, leaving room for braking for the next roundabout. Obviously in manual, with r-mode for VDC and box and a flat road, things get quicker.

The mx-5 is fast, plus a jump, so I can see it on a short stretch I can't understand what happened on a second run though, if he was gunning it, he'd have a huge advantage on exit speed and you would be holding him up. Maybe he was just getting used to it or something?

Not really a straight-line machine though, would have been interesting to introduce a few bends.

He's getting more ambitious in each race. Is it going to be a Veyron next?

If you don't believe me, come to the rolling road day I'm organising and ask him for yourself?

Dastek, Dalgety Bay
29th August.

Bit of a trek to be proven wrong, mind.

I raced a veyron last night and to be honest there wasnt a lot in it. He did pull away from me but only by about an inch upto 150 mph

Mk1 has already proven how fast his mx5 is with his 1/4 mile evidence... however OP you're just provoking people with these threads.

I used to have a very fast mx5, and yes it was great, but this is now getting a little bit dull if I'm honest.
