Nitefly's 'Hearts on Fire' Log

Definitely get that OHP up broseph, been forever 37.5kg!

Question - overhand or mixed grip for DL? If mixed, at what weight do you normally ditch overhand?

I expect I'll be forever at 40kg as well - it's a big % increase compared to the other lifts.

Double overhand is used, but I've used straps for my working weight ever since I hurt my wrists. They have recently healed, but I've kept with the straps for now. I have stopped using them for pull downs / negatives, so my forearms feel worn but safely out of the injury zone.

To be fair, I think everyone has issues with OHP. Once you've hit your 'limit' it seems to take a good couple of sessions for it to be able to increase again.

I find I make progress every session, just not 2.5kg over 5 sets.

Squats 90kg - 5,5,5,5,5
Bench 62.5kg - 5,3,4,3,3
Rows - 52.5kg - 5,5,5,5,5
Decline 52.5kg - 5,5,5,5,5

Not much to comment on today. Squats were solid, will be doing them again at 90kg next time.

90kg squats club! 100kg incoming.

How's CBL going? Your treat-tastic back loads are relevant to my interests.

Literally eating a white chocolate magnum right now.

Had 60g of dextrose, a snickers... eyeing up a chocolate easter egg whilst my sausages cook.

Squats 92.5kg - 5,5,5,5,5
OHP 40kg - 5,5,5,4,3
DL 110kg - 5,5,5,5,5
Chin Ups -> negatives to 5 - 5,4,3,2,1

Hip flexors ruined for life I expect. Really struggling to stretch them out.

Yeaaaaaaaah! I knew you wouldn't fail 92.5, glad you didn't chicken out and do 90kg again :p

Wall//couch stretch should sort your face out, MWOD 2 I believe. I loves it hard.

Today was an ambitious gym session. It followed 4 nights of hard drinking and 3 hours of sleep. I am currently hanging out of my arse (/pilesception). But since therandom challenged me to a PB I had to bring on the pain. I changed into my strongman t-shirt and visualised myself as a sexual cobra ready to strike out.

Squats 95kg - 3,3,2,2,2
Rows 55kg - 5,5,5,5,5 (massive cheating)
Bench 62.5kg - 5,4,3,3,2

So yeah, nearly killed myself! Squats were actually dangerous. I have a history of looking strong and failing hastily from nowhere so I really had to be careful this time. A warning to fellow manlets, if you are going to fail, remember to fail safely! I didn't fail any reps but nearly stumbled over on my third set.... yikes.

Spine still in one piece... for now :D
